Jawa Forty Two Overview
Jawa 42 is a classic-looking motorcycle with a dash of modern design.
While both Forty Two and Classic are kind of retro bikes brought back to the modern world, Jawa 42 takes it to an additional level.
It looks and feels contemporary take on Jawa Classic.
On the front, it gets the same rounded headlamp, blacked-out single piece handlebar, and an off-set analog-digital instrument cluster.
Compared with the sibling, 42 gets a more muted design with matt colors, smaller front fenders, and slightly lesser chrome treatments.
It completes the look with the sleek lines and graceful curves.
Like the Jawa Classic, it also gets a classic spoke wheel tyres to complete the overall retro styling.
Jawa 42 is available in six different colors: Nebula Blue, Comment Red, Starlight Blue, Lumos Lime, Halley’s Teal, and Galactic Green.
Jawa Forty Two is powered by a 293cc, Single-Cylinder, 4-stroke, Liquid-cooled, Fuel Injected engine.
It can generate a max power of 26.51PS and max torque of 27.05Nm. Moreover, it is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a 14-liter fuel tank capacity.
Talking about the suspension setup, it gets a standard Telescopic Hydraulic Fork at the front and Twin Shock Hydraulic at the rear.
Moving to the braking performance, it is available with 280mm Front Disc and a 240mm Rear Disc.
You can choose between two ABS options: Single-Channel ABS or Dual-Channel ABS.
Like I’ve said earlier, the overall spec-sheet is the same as the Jawa Classic.
Here’s the quick highlight of all the features in the new Jawa 42 in Nepal.
Jawa 42 Feature Highlights
- Retro Yet Modern Design
- Premium Metal Body Feel with Matte Finish
- Analog-Digital Instrument Cluster
- 293cc Fuel-Injected Engine
- Twin Exhaust System
- Dual Disc Braking
- Single-Channel ABS (Dual-Channel ABS Optional)
Jawa 42 Price in Nepal and Availability
Jawa 42 price in Nepal is Rs. 6,20,000 for the single-channel ABS and Rs. 6,48,000 for the dual-channel ABS. Moreover, the overall price may vary depending on the model and additional features and accessories.
Previously, we compared the Jawa Classic against the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
As the price of Jawa motorcycles, the reception to our post was mixed.
If you compare Jawa bikes with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 ABS (Priced at ~ Rs. 6.00 Lakhs), Royal Enfield Electra ABS (Priced at ~ 4.67 Lakhs), and Royal Enfield Thunderbird X ABS (Priced at ~ Rs. 6.70 Lakhs).
Yes, Jawa feels overpriced… but hear me out.
In contrast to Royal Enfields, Jawa boasts a better spec-sheet with a more refined FI engine. Moreover, Jawa features a liquid-cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox.
More importantly, Jawa is a BS6-compliant.
If you try to add all these features in the popular Royal Enfield offerings, I’m sure the pricing will come up to the level we already think is overpriced.
Let’s not forget, Royal Enfield launched Classic 350 with electric start as a feature a few years ago! Compared to that at least, Jawa is trying to justify the high price.
But does it though? Well, I’ll leave that entirely up to you.
In any case, if you are interested in getting the new Jawa bikes in Nepal, head to the Jawa Showrooms at Teku and Uttardhoka.
