Infinix Note 50x 5G+ Launched! The Most Affordable Phone with Dimensity 7300 in Nepal

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Infinix Note 50x 5G+ price in Nepal is Rs. 21,999 (6/128GB).
  • It is the most affordable smartphone with an iteration of the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.
  • This is the second 5G phone that Infinix is introducing to the Nepali market.

Infinix is one of those brands that you can’t help but notice. I mean, slapping the Dimensity 8300 in a phone that costs under Rs. 50,000 (see: GT 20 Pro) and offering wireless charging in under Rs. 30,000 (see: Note 40) is sure to turn a lot of heads.

Building on this momentum, they have now launched the Infinix Note 50x 5G+. (Yes, the plus is there. They are indeed calling it 5G+) This phone is one of the most affordable 5G phones in Nepal, and definitely the most inexpensive phone with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 variant powering it!

The inclusion of Dimensity 7300 is definitely a big part of this phone. Other than that, the Nepali variant of this phone has seen a tweak in the battery department, and there is the weird decision to have 5G “+” in the name. So, we have quite a few things to unpack about this phone!

So, what’s up with the Infinix Note 50x 5G+? Let’s discuss further in this article!

Infinix Note 50x 5G+ Overview

Design

The Infinix Note 50x 5G+ looks like a regular smartphone for the most part. It has an octagonal camera island, which gives it a unique look for sure. However, it could be a hit or miss, depending on the person.

This camera bump houses an “Active Halo Lighting” as well, which is an LED strip which lights up when the camera timer is running or when the in-house AI assistant — Folax, is in use. It can also be lit up when gaming, for the vibes.

While the phone is available in Sea Breeze Green, Enchanted Purple, and Titanium Grey colours (excellent names right there) in the international market, it is only available in the grey color option in Nepal.

The chassis and back panel are actually just a good ol’ plastic with a frosted finish, giving it this “metallic” appearance. Other than that, it is also IP64-rated against dust and water exposure.

Display

On the front, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ has a 6.67-inch panel with HD+ resolution. It can switch between 60, 90, and 120Hz of smoothness and comes with a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz.

It covers a respectable 72% NTSC colour gamut and reaches a peak brightness of up to 672 nits. Typically, the number hovers around 560 nits. Wet and greasy touch support is a must-have these days, and thankfully, this phone doesn’t miss out on it.

So far, so good. The catch is it’s an IPS LCD panel. Well… It’s not really a catch, since a lot of phones in this price range tend to offer LCD. However, certain phones, like the Crest and Crest Max from HMD, have really set a precedent by offering OLED. It offers an Always-On feature, though.

MediaTek Dimensity 7300!?

Moving on to the insides, we have the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate powering the Infinix Note 50x 5G+. This is the main highlight of the phone, in my opinion. Not because this phone is the first phone with the 7300 “Ultimate” or whatever.

The “Pro”, “Ultra”, and “Ultimate” titles don’t mean anything in MediaTek’s vocabulary. So, this chipset is only as good as any other Dimensity 7300 chipset.

First phone with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate
Infinix Note 50x 5G+ Chipset

Which brings me to the actual point — D7300 is the same processor we have been seeing in phones like CMF Phone 1, Redmi Note 14 Pro, and the newly launched CMF Phone 2 Pro. All of them are absolute staple phones in the Rs. 30–40,000 segment.

Hence, with the price tag of Rs. 21,999, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ is not only the most affordable phone with the D7300 chipset, it is one of the most inexpensive 5G phones and THE MOST POWERFUL PHONE in sub-Rs. 25,000 segment!

Other Hardware

Other than the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ comes with 6 gigs of RAM. It can be virtually expanded up to 12GB, so an additional 6GB of virtual RAM.

Meanwhile, for storage, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ is only available in a single 128GB option. You could slot in a microSD card for extra space, but at the expense of using your secondary SIM. Also, it’s unclear what the ceiling for external storage support is.

For battery, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ has a 5,200mAh battery, which is a tad bit less than the 5,500mAh international variants get. The charging speed remains at 45W, with the charger included in the box. It does not feature wireless charging support, even though it is a member of the “Note 50” family.

It does have Bypass Charging and reverse wireless charging (wired) of up to 10W. The former feature allows the phone to be directly powered by the charger when gaming. As such, it leaves the battery untouched and reduces strain on it.

Camera and the rest

In terms of imaging, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ features a 50MP snapper on the back. It also appears to have two other lenses, but since the brand itself speaks nothing of it, I am assuming they’re there just for decoration. On the other hand, or side, we have an 8MP unit for selfies.

Software-wise, it boots on XOS 15 based on Android 15, and is full of various AI features like Call/Writing and Document Assistant and Circle to Search. It is set to receive two OS updates and three years of security patches.

The Infinix Note 50x 5G+ features an IR blaster as well, allowing you to use the phone as a remote control for different appliances in your home.

Lastly, I want to briefly touch on the “5G+” part of this phone’s name. It’s obvious that the Infinix Note 50x is a 5G phone — in fact, it will be the only other phone other than the GT 20 Pro with 5G capabilities in Infinix’s roster in Nepal.

Well, the “5G+” could mean the phone is capable of 5G network aggregation. After all, phones tend to display “4G+” when they’re pooling from multiple 4G bands. So maybe that’s the same here? Or maybe it’s just a weird branding choice, and I’m just tweaking.

Infinix Note 50x 5G+ Price in Nepal and Availability

The Infinix Note 50x 5G+ price in Nepal could be Rs. 21,499 for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. It is available for purchase at official stores across the country.

6/128GB Rs. 21,999

As I mentioned earlier, the Infinix Note 50x 5G+ has the potential to be the most powerful smartphone in its price range with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate.

While the Nepali audience is getting a smaller battery compared to the rest of the world, this phone still makes a solid case for itself. Talking of the case, it’s worth mentioning that it comes with a leatherette textured one in the box.
