IME Pay digital wallet has recently introduced a Virtual Visa Card feature for its users. This card will allow us to do the payment without using our physical card. IME Pay has partnered with Global IME Bank to bring Visa for the virtual card.
International payment wallets including Revolut, Stripe and Paytm also have their virtual visa card. Virtual payment cards allow us to make quick payments through our phones and removes the hassle of carrying physical cards everywhere.
Mohit Agarwal, assistant manager of IME Pay, shares that the company is focusing to penetrate the eCommerce market in the first phase. The businesses will get access to the payment service immediately and they don’t need to do any separate agreement.
“We are looking to go to new markets as well. However our initial emphasis is on the eCommerce businesses,” says Agarwal.
As people are gradually getting used to paying through wallet and QR whenever they buy in physical stores, we are adding one more option to enhance the online shopping experience of the customers, adds Agarwal.
It took around 6 months for IME Pay to launch the digital visa card. “Because Visa has a range of options including Platinum Card, Debit Card, Prepaid Card and many more, it was the tricky part for us to choose the right card for the wallet,” shares Agarwal.
They selected the working mechanism for the virtual prepaid cards as per the suggestions from Visa. Here, the balance one has in the wallet will be the same balance for the virtual card.
We can use virtual cards to buy goods and services within the country. As per the Nepal Rastra Bank policy, we can do international payments only with pre-paid dollar cards.
The users of IME Pay digital wallet can get the Virtual Visa Card through a simple process without any charge. Follow this process to get one:
