Huawei Officially Unveils AI-powered Nova 3, Nova 3i Smartphones in Nepal

After much anticipation, Huawei has finally launched the new members of the famed Nova series, the Nova 3 and Nova 3i, here in Nepal. They are mid-range phones from Huawei that have the difficult task of living up to the success that the Nova 2i and Nova 3e received in Nepal. Our impression until now is: these phones look awesome, literally and on paper too.

We have written in brief about the key features of each phone below and listed their price and specs together. We pretty much knew how they were going to look, and what was going to power them early on as the phones were launched internationally a few days ago. But, now they are here in flesh and the prices have been revealed. It is now in the consumer’s hands to decide whether these phones are worth the price tag they come with.

Both of these phones are available on ‘Black’ and ‘Iris Purple’ color options for pre-booking at Daraz until August 12. Whereas, they will be widely available in offline stores from August 15. Also, Huawei is offering a free portable photo printer and portable speaker on prebooking of Nova 3 and Nova 3i respectively.

Huawei Nova 3

Huawei Nova 3 has a large 6.3 inches LTPS LCD screen with screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The bezels are thinner than the Nova 3e as it boasts an impressive 84.2% screen-to-body-ratio.

Nova 3 will also come with flagship chipset, the Kirin 970. The same chipset can be found on the P20 Pro and this will enable Nova 3 with AI processing. Along with the Octa-core processor and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, Nova 3 will come with a 6GB RAM. In terms of storage, you will get a massive 128GB of internal storage.

Moving on to the highlight feature, Nova 3 comes with four AI cameras. The dual rear camera is a combination of 16MP and 24MP sensor. Whereas, the front camera combo consists of a 24MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Nova 3i will ship with Huawei’s all-new Kirin 710 chipset. Along with the Octa-core processor and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, Nova 3i will come with a 4GB RAM. In terms of storage, you get a massive 128GB of internal storage.

Impressions

Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i look like a proper successor to the popular Nova 2i. It’s a familiar design from Huawei along with a familiar spec sheet other than the brand new Kirin 710 on the 3i. We are excited about the four camera setup on both the Nova 3/ 3i and will let you know about its performance once we get the phone.

Also, it will be exciting to see the all-new GPU Turbo in action. Priced at Rs. 59,900 and Rs. 38,900 respectively, time will tell us if the Nova 3 and Nova 3i are actually a worthy successor to the Huawei Nova 2i as per the consumers.
