Honor Magic 6 Pro Overview
Magic of AI
Like most technology brands, Honor too is now boasting AI-powered user experiences. Honor states that MagicOS 8.0 introduces Honor’s platform-level AI and the industry’s first intent-based UI.
Its Magic Portal is a feature that uses AI to understand user messaging and behavior, streamlining complex tasks into a single-step process.
For example, Magic Portal’s AI recognizes addresses in a text message and directs users to Google Maps, enabling effortless navigation. For social media like TikTok and Facebook, it also streamlines access and sharing, allowing users to forward booking details or online search results with just a single drag.
Design
Talking about the design, the Honor Magic 6 Pro comes with a similar design to its predecessor. The placement of the camera hump, speaker grilles, power and volume buttons, charging port, and SIM card tray are all in the same place as the Magic 5 Pro’s. The Magic 6 Pro has also retained the curved display with flat side rails.
However, we do see some improvements and refinement in the overall design. For example, the camera hump is now surrounded by a ‘cushion-shaped’ metal trim around the camera and the selfie camera notch has now moved to the center of the display that gives the phone a more symmetrical look.
The Honor Magic 6 Pro comes in two finishes: glass and eco-leather (PU) depending on color. Honor has also equipped the Honor Magic 6 Pro with a NanoCrystal Shield glass that supposedly is more durable than regular glass as per Honor’s claims. The phone is rated IP68 dust and water-resistant.

Display
The curved 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display of the Honor Magic 6 Pro now has a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The display reaches an HBM of 1600 nits and a peak brightness of a whopping 5000 nits.
Along with the above features, the display is Dolby Vision and HDR-certified. The display is also capable of standing by in fullscreen always-on mode when not active. Covering the class is Honor’s NanoCrystal Shield glass which supposedly has “ten times the drop resistance as certified by SGS”.
Wrapping up, the display of the Honor Magic 6 Pro also includes an optical fingerprint sensor under the display as well as a 3D TOF (time of flight) sensor in the selfie camera cutout for 3D face recognition like Apple’s FaceID. Meaning, the device features dual biometric authentication along with your standard PIN and password login.
The phone also features a software feature similar to Apple’s ‘Dynamic Island’ where important notifications are shown near the selfie camera cutout of the phone.
Hardware
The Honor Magic 6 Pro, being a flagship device, naturally features Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line hardware, namely, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The processor is an octa-core chip that has the cores configured in a 1+3+2+2 configuration.
The chip has 1x 3.3 GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, 3x 3.2 GHz Cortex-A720 high-performance cores, 2x 3.0 GHz Cortex-A720 efficiency cores, and 2x 2.3 GHz Cortex-A520 ultra-efficiency cores. Supplementing the CPU is the Adreno 750 coprocessor that handles all the graphics.
Honor has also bundled the smartphone with a HONOR C1+ RF chip that supposedly allows for better network management and the HONOR Discrete Security Chip S1 which “features the dual-TEE, ensuring all-round protection for your privacy,” as stated by Honor.
For memory, the Magic 6 Pro comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Sadly, the phone does not support memory expansion.
Camera
The Honor Magic 6 Pro’s next-gen Falcon Camera System, which, in paper, is an upgrade to the Honor Magic 5 Pro’s cameras consists of a 50MP main camera that has a variable aperture that can switch between f/1.4 and f/2.0. The main camera also comes with Laser AF, PDAF, and OIS.
According to Honor, the Falcon Camera System is powered by an AI model trained with a database that is 28 times larger than the previous generation.
The camera includes Honor AI Motion Sensing Capture, an AI capture algorithm that predicts and captures decisive moments in ultra-high definition. It surpasses the previous generation by covering a wider range of sports and activities such as jumping, dancing, and martial arts.
Accompanying the main camera is the whopping 180MP, f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera that has phase-detect autofocus, OIS, and 2.5x optical zoom. The third is the 50MP, f/2.0 ultrawide camera that has a FOV of 122˚. Finishing the setup is yet again, a 50MP, f/2.0 lens that acts as the selfie camera.
Both the front and the rear cameras can record up to 4K, but the rear cameras can record at 60fps whereas the selfie camera is capped at 30fps only.
Battery and OS
Talking about the battery, the Magic 6 Pro comes equipped with Honor’s second-gen Silicon-carbon battery that has a 5600mAh capacity. The battery is still a Lithium battery but instead of a pure graphite anode, the new battery uses an anode made up of a mixture of silicon and graphite. It has a claimed 12.8% higher energy density compared to regular graphite batteries.
The battery supports a whopping 80W fast charging and 66W wireless charging. The Honor Magic 6 Pro can also reverse charge devices both wired and wirelessly.
Out-of-the-box, the smartphone comes with MagicOS 8 skin on top of Android 14. Utilizing the pill-shaped camera notch on the front, the MagicOS 8 features a function akin to Apple’s Dynamic Island called the Magic Capsule. With a simple tap on the notification banner at the top of the screen, the Magic Capsule expands to offer additional information and related options.
