Honor 9X Lite with Kirin 710F and Google Services Launched in Nepal

Honor has launched the Honor 9X Lite in Nepal. It’s the lite version of the Honor 9X which is also available in Nepal.

Honor 9X Lite price in Nepal is Rs. 22,999. It’s available in Emerald Green color with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

This is the 2nd Honor phone that is going to be launched in Nepal after the lockdown. The first one was the Honor 8A Pro.

As the name suggests, it is a lite variant of the Honor 9X which was launched back in 2019. So, let’s see what makes it lite.

Honor 9X Lite Overview

Design

Honor 9X has a plastic back with a glass-like finish and has a plastic frame with a matte finish. On the rear, the dual-camera module is arranged vertically flanked by a fingerprint sensor.

On the front, it has a first-generation notch. So, this is quite a weird choice given they could have gone for teardrop notch or even hole-punch design.

Display

Honor 9X Lite has a 6.5 inches IPS LCD screen with a screen resolution of 1080 X 2340. The side bezels are quite thin and the bottom lip is also not that big. However, that big notch is definitely a sore.

It has a ~84.0% screen-to-body ratio and the screen has a respectable ~397 PPI density.

Hardware

The phone is powered by Hisilicon Kirin 710F Octa Core Processor which is built in 12 nm Processor with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone has an expandable memory of up to 512GB with micro SD.

The chipset is the same as the Honor 9X; the Kirin 710F. It’s a very old chipset which provides decent performance at best. It is used on lots of mid-range Huawei and Honor phones as well. It will not provide as good performance as the Snapdragon and Mediatek counterparts.

Camera

Talking about the camera, it has a dual-camera setup on the rear. There’s a main 48MP sensor and then a 2MP depth sensor. The main sensor is the same one used on the Honor 9X Pro. To be exact it’s the Sony IMX 582 sensor.

However, it misses out on an ultrawide angle sensor that is available in both the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro.

On the front, it has an 8MP f/2.0 sensor for selfies. It can capture 1080 30fps videos from both rear and front cameras.

Battery

Honor 9X Lite has 3750 mAh battery which is slightly smaller compared to the 4000 mAh on its normal and pro variant. The battery should last for a day.

But, the thing is you’re stuck with a normal 10W charger as it doesn’t support fast charging.

Furthermore, it runs on EMUI 9.1 on top of Android 10 with Google Play services.

Honor 9X Lite Price in Nepal and Availability

Honor 9X Lite price in Nepal is Rs. 22,999. Honor 9X Lite is available in only limited countries right now. Its price in Malaysia is RM 699 which is roughly 20,000 in Nepali rupees.

Honor 9X Lite is quite similar to Honor 9X in terms of hardware. It has the same camera, similar display but it misses out on glass back, ultrawide angle camera, and few other things. It also comes with a big notch on the front compared to the pop-up design of the Honor 9X.

Honor 9X Lite looks like an average budget phone. I like that is an FHD screen and a good main 48MP camera sensor. However, it’s Kirin 710F is not a good performer in the mid-range category.

On top of that, it doesn’t have an ultrawide angle camera which is quite common in this range. But thankfully, it has Google Play Services otherwise it would have been a really hard sell for Honor.
