Honor 20 Lite, Successor of the Honor 10 Lite, Officially Launched in Nepal

Honor is a relatively new brand in Nepal. But I feel they are gaining similar recognition in Nepal as in the international market. They have significantly reduced the price of their previous smartphone and they are a great value now.

They recently launched the Honor 10 lite. And we reviewed the phone. That was a very competitive offering from Honor. Now, Honor, just 2 and a half months after the release of the Honor 10 lite has released the Honor 20 lite in Nepal. The Honor 20 lite price in Nepal is set Rs. 32,500.

Honor 20 lite is the successor to Honor 10 lite that was launched in 2018. Looking at the specs, the 20 lite looks like a rebranded version of Huawei P30 lite. That’s understandable as Honor’s parent company is Huawei.

Honor 20 lite is a 6.21 inch IPS LCD display with full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2312 pixels. This means images will look sharp and crisp. We didn’t have any complaints with Honor’s screens in the past. I don’t think this phone will be an exception.

Inside, Honor 20 lite is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor. If you have keen eyes and mind, you’ll notice that this is the same processor used in last year’s phones like the Nova 3i. But this is not that big of a problem because the Kirin 710 is a powerful and efficient chipset as seen from the Nova 3i. (P30 lite is using the same processor too)

This processor is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The internal storage is expandable to up to 512GB via microSD card slot.

Honor 20 lite Price in Nepal: Rs. 32,500

Honor 20 lite is a mid-range phone at heart. It doesn’t have a super powerful processor or an AMOLED screen. However, one flashy feature is the triple lens rear camera setup: 24MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP lens for depth mapping. Up front, the device comes with a 32MP camera to capture selfies and for video calling.

Lastly, Honor 20 lite comes with ‘normal’ fingerprint sensor. That is a good thing as traditional fingerprint sensors are faster. Honor 20 lite has a 3400 mAh battery. Honor phones have stellar battery life regardless of their size thanks to their fine-tuned software.

Overall, Honor 20 lite is a good mid-range phone that has been praised by reviewers internationally. If you want something that is relatively cheap and that gives you a great balance of performance and design, you should buy this smartphone.

However, phones like Honor Play and Xiaomi Pocophone still give the best value in this price range. And Samsung has brought an amazing contender called Samsung Galaxy A50 that offers features like FHD+ AMOLED display that can’t be found on any other smartphone in this price category.
