The Forthing Friday EV, one of this year’s notable automotive launches, has officially arrived in Nepal. It was unveiled at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 in two variants. Additionally, the pricing of the car suggests a pricing war that is slowly intensifying in the market.

Laxmi Electric Mobility, a known name in the Nepali automotive scene, is the official distributor of Forthing vehicles in Nepal.

To establish some context, the Forthing brand is operated by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of the larger Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Dongfeng already has a presence in Nepal, having introduced the Nammi 01 in 2024, which gained significant attention as a value offering.

Although both the Nammi 01 and the Forthing Friday EV fall under the Dongfeng umbrella, they are developed by separate electric divisions. As a result, the two models differ in terms of production facilities, target markets, and underlying platforms.

The vehicle supports up to 80 kW DC charging capabilities, which can charge it from 20% to 80% SOC in around 30 minutes.

The global variant of the Friday EV packs a powerful 150 kW motor, enabling it to reach a top speed of over 180 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. However, details about the Nepal-specific version with a 99 kW motor remain unavailable.
