The proud product of MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp, the authorized distributor of Changan vehicles in Nepal, S07 is here yet again with some thoughtful upgrades including a new battery pack, redesigned wheels, improved connectivity features, and a fresh new color option.
Built on the advanced EPA1 EV platform, the Deepal S07 showcases the full scale of Changan’s global R&D capabilities. It engaged 18,000 engineers across six countries, supported by 16 technology centers and 180 laboratories. Moreover, designed at Changan’s Turin studio in Italy, the S07 blends European design sensibilities with intriguing Chinese EV technology.
This fusion has helped the S07 gain rapid popularity and a strong following in a short time. And, responding to this enthusiastic reception, MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp has continued to strengthen the S07’s appeal. After introducing variants with a larger motor and extended range, they have now unveiled the 2025 model, which is an improved iteration that builds on the success of the original S07.

Deepal S07 Overview
Design
Deepal S07 showcases a design that borders on artistry. A team of talented designers contributed to its creation, all guided by a philosophy known as “Symbiotic Aesthetics”, which is a design language that blends humanity, technology, and nature. This concept has worked remarkably well. While many may not recall the S07’s name, they almost certainly recognize its presence on the road. And, that’s the hallmark of a truly successful design.
From the front, the S07 presents a wide and assertive stance, yet its shape remains aerodynamic. The lack of a traditional grille, the subtly ribbed bonnet, and the downward-arching front profile all work together to improve airflow.
Impressively, the vehicle achieves a Drag coefficient of 0.258, which is excellent for an SUV. Sleek LED Headlamps paired with the distinctive LED Star Petal DRLs give the front a futuristic and dynamic character. Below, the fog lamps are neatly tucked into the black front lip, framed by sharp, flared black trims that add depth to the overall styling.
Along the side, the S07 rides on bold 20-inch Alloy Wheels. Black claddings on the lower edges lend a rugged, dual-tone appearance. However, the ICA variant replaces these claddings with body-colored panels for a cleaner look. Frameless doors enhance the vehicle’s premium feel, while flush-fitting door handles not only look modern but also support better side aerodynamics.
At the rear, the design continues to impress with a striking Starflame Through-Type Taillight and an illuminated logo that enhances its night-time road presence. The rear bumper features a skid-plate-inspired (faux) insert along with dark claddings, tying the rugged and premium elements together.
Interior
The inside of the S07 greets you with a luxurious, yacht-inspired interior. The cabin features premium soft-touch materials in key touchpoints, complemented by harder plastics in less prominent areas.
A massive 15.6-inch centrally mounted Sunflower Touchscreen handles most of the vehicle’s functions, keeping the physical buttons to a minimum for a clean, minimalist look. The seats are wrapped in Perforated Leatherette Upholstery. The driver enjoys a 6-way Power-Adjustable Seat with 4-way Lumbar Support, while the front passenger seat also features 4-way Power Adjustment. Both front seats come with built-in ventilation for added comfort.
Interestingly, Instrument Cluster is essentially missing in the S07. Instead, you get a Heads-Up Display just in line-of-sight of the driver for all the necessary driving information, along with an Augmented Reality (AR) Navigation.
Additional interior highlights include 64-color wraparound Mood Lighting, a Wireless Charger, Gesture Recognition, Voice Control, and Wireless Apple CarPlay. Notably, the ICA variant upgrades the system with built-in eSIM support for 4G and 5G connectivity. Finally, a Sony 14-speaker premium audio system fills the cabin with rich sound, while the 1.9-square-meter starry Panoramic Glass Roof floods the space with ambient natural light.
Additionally, Deepal S07 comes in Cosmic White, Nebula Green, Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Sunset Orange, Cosmic Yellow, and an extra Nebula Blue is exclusive for the ICA model. Moreover, the interior also features two color options Orange and Black.

Performance
Deepal S07 comes in three variants. Here’s a quick overview of the Motor, Battery, Battery Type, and WLTP Range of the three variants.
Deepal S07 variants | Motor | Battery | Battery Type | WLTP Range |
---|---|---|---|---|
Base | 99 kW | 66.8 kWh | NMC | 410 km |
ICA | 99 kW | 68.8 kWh | LFP | 410 km |
L | 160 kW | 79.97 kWh | NMC | 485 km |
The base model is powered by a 99 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. It generates a max power of 134 PS and a max torque of 320 Nm. It is supported by a 66.8 kWh Lithium (NMC) Battery, providing a 410 km WLTP Range on a single charge. Moreover, it can fully charge in 9-10 hours with a 7.2 kW AC charger.
On the other hand, the ICA, i.e., 2025 model of the original S07 packs the same 99 kW Motor but contrary to the base model, it has a 68.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery that is good for the same 410 WLTP range. Moreover, it can charge from 0 to 100% in around 10 hours and 30 minutes with the same 7.2 kW AC Charger.
But, the Long Range or “L” variant is powered by a 160 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. It generates a max power of 218PS and a max torque of 320Nm. It is supported by a 79.97 kWh Lithium (NMC) Battery, providing a 485 km WLTP Range on a single charge. Moreover, it can fully charge in around 12 hours with a 7kW AC charger.
Moreover, all variants can charge from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes on an average!
Deepal S07 also gets four Drive Modes: Eco, Comfort, Sports, and Customize. Furthermore, its rear-wheel drive setup adds a playful edge to the drive, making every ride feel more engaging. And, regardless of the variant, the power and torque outputs are well-suited for Nepali roads.
We had very little to complain about in terms of performance from its initial inception. The S07 delivers exactly what it’s meant to, which is a sustainable mobility backed by sufficient power, all wrapped in a luxurious, tech-laden cabin that feels like a sanctuary on wheels.
Additional Details
MacPherson and H-Arm Multi-Link Independent handle suspension duties.
The dimensions are 4750mm in length, 1930mm in width, and 1625mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 2900mm.
Deepal S07 gets a 175 mm ground clearance. And, the kerb weight for the base S07 is 2035 kg. However, the kerb weight for the ICA and L is not known.
It boasts a 125-liter frunk space at the front and a 445-liter space at the rear for the base and L, but the ICA has a litter bigger boot space of 475-liter.
S07 Variants Explained
The Deepal S07 is available in three distinct variants, each differentiated primarily by their battery chemistry, capacity, and performance figures. First of all, the price of the base and ICA variant are set the same, coming at Rs. 74.99 Lakhs while the L variant comes at Rs. 84.99 Lakhs.
But, the base and L variants use NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery packs, with capacities of 66.8 kWh and 79.97 kWh, respectively. In contrast, the ICA variant comes equipped with a 68.8 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack.
While the L variant stands out as the long-range option with the largest battery, it also features a significantly more powerful motor (160 kW motor) compared to the 99 kW PMS motors used in both the Base and ICA variants. In terms of range, the Base and ICA variants offer 410 km, while the L variant stretches that figure to 485 km.
But, the ICA variant, which is also the latest variant, also introduces several key upgrades that enhance its appeal. It includes eSIM connectivity, a new infotainment operating system, Deepal app integration, redesigned alloy wheels, and full body-color styling. Combined with the added thermal stability and longer life cycle of the LFP battery, these enhancements make the ICA variant a well-rounded and attractive choice in the lineup.

Rivals
The competition for the Deepal S07 has evolved into a full-blown battleground. What once felt like a niche has now become a crowded arena filled with strong contenders. Among them, the most prominent alternatives include the BYD Atto 3 and Sealion 7, Proton e.MAS 7, MG S5 EV, and the IM6.
Instead of diving deep into technical specs, which we’ve done in the past, this time we can rely on actual market data, which offers a more realistic insight into buyer preferences and market behavior. In terms of real-world performance and popularity, only the BYD Atto 3 has matched the Deepal S07 in national sales. While the MG S5 EV, Proton e.MAS 7, BYD Sealion 7, and IM6 are exciting new entrants, they’ve arrived in a segment that’s already starting to feel saturated.
To address past criticisms and maintain its edge, the brand has introduced the updated S07 ICA 2025. This refreshed model brings key improvements: a new LFP battery pack (still delivering 410 km WLTP range), enhanced connectivity through the Deepal App and e-SIM integration, and a more premium look with redesigned wheels and color options.
These updates make the S07 a more well-rounded and future-proof electric SUV. Among premium EVs priced around Rs. 75 Lakhs, such as the BYD Sealion 7 and MG IM6, the S07 now presents itself as a more compelling, balanced choice, and frankly more good looking too. However, for those with a tighter budget, options like the Proton e.MAS 7, BYD Atto 3, and MG S5 EV still offer great value.
So, to sum it up: Deepal’s next challenge isn’t hardware, it’s brand trust. To truly succeed in the Nepali market, Deepal must now focus on proving its long-term commitment, building strong after-sales support, and becoming a household name among Nepali EV buyers.
What do you think about the Deepal S07? Will it continue to dominate the segment or will fall short in the race? Drop you comments.
