HIGHLIGHTS
- Deepal E07 price in Nepal is Rs. 1.10 Crores.
- It is available in a Rear Wheel Drive setup.
- The E07 is an SUV, but it features a retractable trunk, providing the added functionality of a pickup truck.
Changan Nepal has reintroduced the Deepal E07 with a subtle yet genuinely impactful upgrade, now known as the Deepal E07 Transformer X. The “Transformer” tag here is not just marketing flair. At the push of a button, the vehicle can physically transform from an SUV into a pickup. At the same time, the air suspension further enhances this versatility by allowing the ride height and ground clearance to be adjusted to suit different driving conditions and use cases.

MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp, the authorized distributor of Changan vehicles in Nepal, has reintroduced its flagship vehicle: the Deepal E07.
The Deepal E07, also known as the Changan Nevo E07 in the international market, was born out of a specific challenge, i.e., China’s strict regulations and restrictions on heavy-duty and pickup trucks, which make them difficult to own and operate in many regions. So, what Changan did was make an SUV that, in need, can be used in a pickup fashion through its retractable trunk feature.
At first glance, the design may appear unconventional and not immediately appealing. However, considering the complexity involved in creating a dual-function electric vehicle, the overall execution is handled with notable attention to detail. In this article, we examine the Deepal E07 in depth, beginning with its revised pricing.
What is the Price of Deepal E07 in Nepal?
Deepal E07 Transformer X price in Nepal is Rs. 1,09,90,000 or more realistically Rs. 1.10 Crores.
The E07 was previously available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) options, with the RWD variant coming at 1.04 Crores while the AWD variant commanding the higher price of Rs. 1.99 Crores. However, these will not be available now.
The only variant for the E07 Transformer X, which elevates the price a little bit from its RWD predecessor, but brings the air suspension technology from the AWD sibling. So it can be called the best of both worlds.
As Deepal’s flagship model in Nepal, the E07 offers a compelling range of features, and that is no exaggeration. To understand this, let’s first have a quick look at the specifications of the Deepal E07 in Nepal.

Deepal E07 Overview
Exterior
The Deepal E07 has earned the nickname “Chinese Cybertruck” due to its design, which draws comparisons to the Tesla Cybertruck. However, while the Cybertruck boasts a bold, angular, and unconventional look, the E07 maintains the smooth curves and more familiar design elements typical of traditional automobiles, but still it does look a bit strange …. innit?
The E07 follows a design philosophy centered on versatility and category disruption, positioning itself as a “Multitruck.” Built on Changan’s SDA platform, some reports suggest that the E07’s chassis uses a lot of aluminum. That could explain why the car feels lighter than expected, especially when you consider its large size and the amount of equipment it carries.

Up front, it may not look particularly aerodynamic, but this front-end design helps the car achieve an impressive drag coefficient of around 0.25. The closed-off sections all around are interrupted by the air intakes in the lower bumper that help cool the battery pack. The slim, C-shaped LED projector headlamps are linked by a thin LED light bar and provide good visibility for night driving.
But except for these usual design cues, there are not many elements to talk about here. An interesting bit of information was that on early concepts, there was an interactive digital display block between the headlights for text messages, but export models replaced that with the plain LED strip due to regulations.
From the side, the E07 stands out with a bold, coupe-style silhouette, a shape driven largely by the sloping roof needed to house its retractable trunk. The wheel size is a 21-inch quad set, but unlike the previous model, the Transformer X has a better-looking spoke wheel design.
Other bits include the roof rack, which will be quite handy for carrying more luggage. But the rest of the part is tucked in and non-protruding for a better aerodynamic design.

Looking at the rear, the design resembles Deepal’s L07 but with a surprising twist. A push of a button causes a two-stage electric glass dome sliding forward (~400 mm), which is followed by the power tailgate dropping downward. This exposes a plastic-lined bed (1667 mm long) along with a power outlet.
Thus exposed space is around 524 liters in size, and the boot and second-row seats can be folded, expanding the vehicle’s storage capacity even further.
Additionally, the E07 is available in Black, Grey, and White color options.
Interior
The cabin is a strictly minimalist five-seater that is both up on tech and upmarket. Starting with the seats, the material used to make them is Nappa leather, which is of a premium class. You can expect to be cocooned in a soft and delicate setting in them. Besides this, all of the seats come standard with massage, heating, ventilation, and a welcome function.
Furthermore, the front seats also feature 8-way Power Adjustment and 4-way Power Lumbar Support along with Zero Gravity Function. I don’t think there’s any EV in Nepal that offers such an extensive level of comfort coverage.
Most of the cabin surface is layered with soft-touch materials. The dashboard is dominated by a 15.4-inch Adjustable Central Screen, and this is further complemented by the Heads Up Display feature. And, the heads-up display is not a basic one. In fact, it is a 28.86-inch massive projection since there’s no dedicated instrument cluster on this car, like its siblings.

This cabin of this car has so much in it, and yet it does not have any physical controls or physical equipment to give that perception of abundance. But upon a swift exploration, you’d find a wireless charger, spacious glove box, USB outlets, an 18-speaker sound system, 256-color ambient lighting, dual zone air conditioning, smartphone integration, along with internet connectivity, and hundreds of functions that can be accessed via the central screen.
The only bits that can be counted as downsides are the lack of physical controls inside and slightly reduced second-row space to accommodate the vehicle’s pickup transformation capabilities. However, this doesn’t significantly impact comfort.
A disclaimer here: although the interior photo above shows an orange-like theme, the Transformer X’s interior is only available in black.
Performance
Deepal E07 Transformer X is powered by a 190 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that generates a max power of 258 PS and 365 Nm of max torque. Being a Rear Wheel Drive car, you can expect good handling and exhilarating acceleration. In numbers, the E07 does a 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, while the top speed of 180 km/h seems to have been electronically limited.
The massive motor is powered by a large 89.98 kWh Ternery Lithium Battery. And, with this battery pack and its nature of having a rich energy density, the E07 manages a 566 km WLTP claimed range. Compare it with any other EV available in Nepal, no model can match this WLTP figure.
But having such a massive battery pack comes with a downside of an elongated AC charging time, as the standard 7 kW AC Charger manages to charge it from 0 to 100% in around 14 hours.

On the flip side, since the E07 operates on an advanced 800-volt platform, it can support an ultra-fast DC charging of up to 240 kW. However, in Nepal, where the commonly available charging infrastructure still supports only 60 kW, the DC Fast Charger can still replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately one hour.
Additional Details
The dimensions are 5,045 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height, and the wheelbase is 3120 mm. The kerb weight sits at around 2325 kg.
Double Wishbone and H-arm Multi-Link handles the suspension duties. On top of that, it adds an air suspension with continuous damping control, which automatically adjusts ride height and stiffness based on road conditions and driving style.
For instance, it has a ground clearance of 200 mm, but it can be elevated up to 223 mm thanks to its air suspension.
It can be converted to a pickup that offers a maximum loading capacity of 300 kg, which if you know is not very much to be called a pickup. So, it is more of a practicality thing. Moreover, in terms of storage space, it has a 131-liter frunk and 524 liters of boot space. While the rear seats can be folded to expand the boot space to 1654 liters, the inherent space itself does not sit quite well with the size of the car.
On an interesting note, however, the water-wading capacity of E07 is 600 mm.

Rivals
The Deepal E07 Transformer X was launched with a clear intent to disrupt categories, positioning itself across two segments at once: SUV and pickup. It is a quirky and unconventional approach from a marketing standpoint, but the real question is how well it stacks up against established competition. To find that answer, we line it up against the Mahindra XEV 9e, a model that has been grabbing attention lately as deliveries have begun. For a fair comparison, we are considering the top-spec Pack 3 variant of the XEV 9e.
Looking at sheer size, the E07 is the larger vehicle overall. It also carries a noticeably longer wheelbase than the XEV 9e, which typically translates into better cabin space. However, things get a bit more nuanced here. The E07 needs to accommodate its retractable pickup mechanism, which eats into the space equation. Deepal manages a respectable balance between cabin room and storage, but when it comes to outright boot capacity, the XEV 9e takes a clear lead with 663 liters compared to the E07’s approximate 524 liters.
Both vehicles sit on dedicated EV platforms and support high-speed DC fast charging. The E07, however, enjoys an advantage with its 800V architecture that enables charging speeds of up to 240 kW, while the XEV 9e Pack 3 supports up to 180 kW. That said, the Mahindra counters with a smaller 79 kWh LFP battery pack, which generally offers better long-term durability and thermal stability compared to the E07’s larger 90 kWh ternary lithium battery. From a battery chemistry standpoint, this could make the XEV 9e more appealing to certain buyers.
In terms of range, the XEV 9e Pack 3 delivers a WLTP-rated 533 km, which is slightly lower than the E07’s claimed 566 km. Still, considering the smaller battery size and the lower energy density of LFP chemistry, Mahindra’s range figure remains quite impressive.
Comfort is where the E07 clearly pulls ahead. Its multi-functional seats for both the front and second row, paired with an air suspension setup, deliver a plush, almost cushion-like ride. The air suspension also allows ride-height adjustment, adding to its versatility. While the XEV 9e does offer an intelligent adaptive suspension, the E07’s setup is tuned for a more premium experience, offering better ride comfort, sharper handling, and adjustable ground clearance.
Safety is an area where the XEV 9e strikes back strongly. It boasts a 5-star BNCAP rating, one of the highest scores recorded so far. The E07, on the other hand, does not yet have an official safety rating, even though it matches the XEV 9e feature-for-feature in terms of safety equipment. Still, an official crash test score carries weight, and here the numbers clearly favor the Mahindra.
Then comes pricing. The top-spec XEV 9e Pack 3 is priced at Rs. 95 lakhs, while the Deepal E07 Transformer X commands a significantly higher Rs. 1.10 crore. The E07 does justify part of that premium with its design, technology, and comfort upgrades, but the roughly Rs. 15 lakhs gap, combined with Mahindra’s strong brand presence and trust in Nepal, makes the XEV 9e a compelling alternative for many buyers.
On a personal note, while the E07 stands out as an intriguing and technically ambitious vehicle that blends innovation with versatility, the XEV 9e feels more familiar, approachable, and easier to live with as an everyday electric SUV.
