It features a completely new design and a new added single-channel ABS safety. All of this comes at a price of just Rs. 3,23,900.

Yamaha FZ-S FI v3.0 Feature Highlights

  • Muscular New Design
  • Split LED Headlamps
  • Impressive Fuel Tank Design
  • New Grab-Rails
  • Comfortable seats
  • Negative Instrument Clusters
  • Dual-Disc Braking

  • Tank Cowl

Why Choose Yamaha FZS FI ABS?

Good Stuff

Starting with the good stuff, Yamaha FZS FI v3.0 features a new muscular design, updated single-seat, redesigned exhaust, new alloy wheels, and a single-channel ABS.

These design elements add character to FZS, giving off an impression of a bigger 250cc sibling.

On top of that, Yamaha’s Blue Core Fuel Injection engine is yet another selling factor here.

Bad Stuff

I can sum up the new changes in just two words: Fresh Design and Single-Channel ABS. While the ABS is a nice addition, the fresh design is polarizing for a few.

Besides that, the new negative cluster looks cool. However, it has only basic information on offer.

Moreover, the mechanical engine remains the same as V2, offering the same engine with an unchanged performance and ride experience.

Summary

Yamaha FZS-FI continues to be one of the best-selling Yamaha bikes in Nepal. It sits comfortably well in its segment, offering a good engine, great performance, and excellent reliability.

While the design might not be everyone’s forte, Yamaha FZS-FI v3.0 still deserves to be in the fifth position of our best bikes under 4 Lakhs in Nepal.

Suzuki Gixxer 150 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, FI engine. It can generate a max power of 14.1PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm of max torque at 6000rpm. Moreover, it is mated to a normal 5-speed gearbox transmission with a 12 liters fuel capacity.

Suzuki Gixxer 150
Suzuki Gixxer 150

Gixxer 150 (also called Gixxer 155) features the Gixxer 250 design, but with a smaller 155cc engine.

More importantly, the new design does not overpower the original Gixxer DNA. Rather it adds a new character to the original icon. But at a steeper price of Rs. 3,25,900.

Suzuki Gixxer 150 Feature Highlights

  • Suzuki Gixxer 250 Inspired Styling
  • 155cc Air-Cooled FI Engine

  • Aggressive Headlamp Design
  • Dual Disc Braking
  • Single-Channel ABS

Why Choose Suzuki Gixxer 150?

Good Stuff

We have already gone into detail admiring the design, performance, and flexibility of the new Gixxer 150.

Suzuki Gixxer 150 FI looks and feels premium. Furthermore, it adds a level of perky engine experience, matched with killer flexibility.

If you want to read more on that, then be sure to check out our Suzuki Gixxer 150 FI review.

Bad Stuff

There is only one thing I don’t like about the new Suzuki Gixxer 150: pricing (excluding the uncomfortable pillion seat).

While the pricing is now on par with other 150-160cc bikes with the FI engine, it wasn’t during its initial launch.

Unfortunately, that little mistake pushed potential riders to competition like the Yamaha FZS-FI v3.0 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ABS.

On a side note, Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 is still overpriced, which is a big disappointment.

#3. TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS

Moving away from the 150cc segment, we slowly climb our way to 200cc with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS.

  • Dual-Disc Brakes
  • Single-Channel ABS
  • Stylish Grab Rails
  • Clip-On Handlebars

Why Choose TVS Apache RTR 200 4V?

Good Stuff

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V was always a good bike. It already came with a digital meter, twin-barrel exhaust, slipper-clutch, and many more. These features were already a rare commodity for a bike in this segment.

Surprisingly, TVS Nepal has improved on something already great.

Especially with the additional new features, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS will continue the tradition of offering the best-in-segment features at a killer price.

Bad Stuff

Unfortunately, that killer price comes with a huge sacrifice.

BS4-Compliant Carburetor Engine.

I don’t know how TVS Nepal did it, but the company brought in a modified version featuring new design and features but with a BS4-compliant engine.

So, the new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS looks like a BS6-compliant motorcycle. In reality, it is a modified version of the same old BS4-compliant bike.

Summary

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS is an interesting motorcycle. It has a good amount of features on offer for a 200cc machine.

However, the Nepali variant fails to fully utilize the Apache RTR 200 4V ABS to its full potential. Ultimately, the outdated carburetor engine will push people to the competition.

That is why, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V ABS loses the second position, placing third on our list of best bikes under 4 Lakhs in Nepal.

#2. Hero XPulse 200

Finally, we come to the Hero XPulse 200, sitting in the second position on our list.

Hero XPulse 200 is powered by a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke, OHC engine. It produces a max power of 18.4PS at 8000rpm and a max torque of 17.1Nm at 6500rpm. Furthermore, it is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a 13-liter fuel tank.

Hero XPulse 200

XPulse broke the cycle of poor design choices and mediocre features. Instead, the new Hero adventure motorcycle introduced fresh innovation for the next generation, with a cost price of Rs. 3,88,000.

Hero XPulse 200 Feature Highlights

  • Adventure Tuned Engine
  • All-Terrain Motorcycle Design
  • Full LED Headlamp and Taillamp
  • Protective Hand Guards

  • Digital Instrument Console

  • Dual Disc Braking
  • Single-Channel ABS
  • 220mm High Ground Clearance
  • Up-Swept Exhaust
  • Wind Visor

Why Should You Buy Hero XPulse 200 in Nepal?

Good Stuff

Hero XPulse 200 is lighter and far more practical, checking most of the right boxes for a typical commuter that is ready for adventure on command.

Moreover, the selling factor isn’t just about the looks.

From Adventure Styling to Smartphone Connectivity System, the new XPulse is practical, reliable, and reasonable.

Hero MotoCorp beautifully utilized the gap in the segment, where riders wanted a somewhat affordable alternative to other high priced adventure two-wheelers.

Bad Stuff

According to unconfirmed rumors, few XPulse engines broke down in mere weeks after purchase, leaving new owners in pain and confusion.

While the rumors may or may not be true, I do have a complaint regarding the cooling mechanism.

Hero XPulse is a 200cc adventure machine with an Air-Cooled system, rather than liquid or oil cooling. I don’t think air-cooling does much for the engine, especially the one with this caliber.

Fortunately, Hero MotoCorp has addressed the issue upon which BS6-compliant Hero XPulse 200 will now feature Oil-Cooled System.

  • Nitrox Mono Shock Suspension
  • Digital-Analog Meter
  • Perimeter Frame

  • Single-Channel ABS
  • Under-Belly Exhaust

Why Choose Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 FI ABS?

Good Stuff

Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 comes with a powerful performance, muscular naked-sports design, and a single-channel ABS.

More importantly, it is a liquid-cooled Fuel Injection Engine, capable of generating one of the best power in the 200cc segment.

Power. Flexibility. Style.

If you add all three together, you get a recipe for success, making Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 the most popular bikes in the 200cc segment.

Bad Stuff

In retrospect, the sheer popularity of Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is also dragging it down.

Over the past few years, there hasn’t been much of an update. It still gets the same design and same features with few color changes here and there.

We were hoping to see a major facelift in the BS6 version, much to our disappointment.

It is understandable to see Bajaj resisting any major change for their popular offerings. However, Bajaj is slowly dragging down the Pulsar NS 200 with a lack of any updates, especially with rivals introducing cool new features.
