Benco V90 Plus Overview
Design
The Benco V90 Plus features a plastic body with varying textures that create a sheen when exposed to light. The back panel includes a large circular cutout and a smaller one, accommodating the rear cameras and the flash module.
The flat plastic side rails of the Benco V90 Plus house the fingerprint sensor/power button, volume buttons, and SIM card tray. The top features a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the bottom includes a Type-C charging port and the grille for the main speaker.
The name of the smartphone is written in plain white on the bottom left corner.
Display
The V90 Plus features an older waterdrop notch display with a noticeable chin. The screen is a 6.56-inch panel with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz.
Benco has introduced a convenient software feature called ‘Smart Window’ in the V90 Plus, which displays vital information and notifications around the selfie camera.
This functionality is similar to Tecno’s ‘Dynamic Port’ and, more notably, Apple’s ‘Dynamic Island’ feature.
Hardware
In terms of hardware, the Benco V90 Plus is equipped with a UNISOC T606 SoC for processing. This octa-core chip features 2x Cortex-A75 and 6x Cortex-A55 cores, all running at a clock speed of 1.6GHz. Graphics are managed by a Mali G57 coprocessor.
The Benco V90 Plus comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, along with support for microSD cards. To enhance performance, Benco has implemented virtual memory technology, which temporarily increases the RAM size when needed.
Camera
Since this phone is positioned as an entry-level device, the focus is not primarily on the cameras; in fact, this time, the cameras have regressed compared to the previous Benco V90 model. The main camera in the V90 Plus is a 13MP shooter, accompanied by an ‘AI Lens’.
On the front, you’ll find an 8MP selfie camera nestled inside the waterdrop notch of the display.
Battery and OS
Powering the Benco V90 Plus is a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery, which charges via a USB-C port and supports 18W fast charging. However, inside the box, you’ll find a 10W charger included.
The phone runs on Android 13 operating system, with Benco’s custom INONE UI skin overlaid on top.
