Asus Vivobook S 14 OLED with Ryzen Processor Now Available in Nepal via NeoStore

Asus’s latest S series of Vivobook, the Vivobook S 14 OLED has been launched in the Nepalese market and is now available for purchase.

Asus refreshed its S series of Vivobooks for 2024 by releasing the new Vivobook S 14 OLED M5406. The laptop is a 14-inch device with a Ryzen processor, an OLED screen, a claimed battery life of 14 hours, and an RGB keyboard. The model launched in Nepal is the M5406NA.

Asus Vivobook S 14 OLED Overview

Design

The Vivobook S 14 OLED M5406NA comes with the same design as its bigger 15-inch cousin, the Asus Vivobook Pro 15 OLED 2024. The entire body of the laptop is encased in a matte-finish metal alloy that has a uniform color throughout.

The only thing breaking the monotonous shade is the minimalist ‘ASUS VIVOBOOK’ etched into the lid of the laptop which has a shiny finish. In fact, the minimalistic theme continues once you open up the laptop. There, you’ll find only the ‘Dolby Atmos’ badge and harman / kardon written on the palm rest.

One surprising thing is that despite being a monotone, business-oriented laptop, Asus has equipped the chiclet-style keyboard with RGB backlit keys on the S 14 OLED. Granted, they are a single-zone RGB keyboard and not per-key, but it is still a nice addition that lets you customize your laptop. There is a dedicated Microsoft Copilot key as well.

Talking about the shape, the laptop has a wedge-shaped body that is wide on the rear and gradually tapers once you move front.

On the right side of the laptop, you’ll find two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports along with the battery status LED whereas on the left side, you’ll find an HDMI 2.1 port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, a microSD card reader and lastly two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports that support display as well as power delivery.

Display

The display of the Asus Zenbook S 14 OLED, as the name implies, is a 14.0-inch OLED panel. The screen has a resolution of 2880 x 1620 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

During use, the panel can reach a typical brightness of 400nits and when viewing HDR content, it can reach a peak brightness of 600nits. The display is Vesa and Pantone Validated. It comes in a glossy finish.

The display panel also contains a 1080p webcam. The camera comes with an IR blaster and supports Windows Hello. The camera also has a physical privacy shutter.

Hardware

This variant of the Vivobook S 14 OLED (M5406NA) comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor. The chip is a 6-core, 12-thread processor that can reach a maximum clock speed of 4.55GHz and is coupled with a Radeon 660M coprocessor that handles all the graphics.

To cool the processor, the Vivobook S 14 OLED comes with Asus’s IceCool Pro thermal technology. This IceCool Pro cooling configuration comes with dual fans and two copper heat pipes.

For memory, the laptop comes with 8GB of soldered RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD. Sadly, the laptop does not feature expandable slots for RAM or storage.

Features like Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E are also present for connecting your laptop wirelessly to other devices and the internet. Speakers tuned by harman / kardon are also included.

Battery

A 4-cell 75Wh Li-ion battery powers the laptop. Asus claims that the battery can last up to 14 hours.

The laptop charges through the USB-C port at up to 65W of power. Asus also claims that the included battery can charge up to 60% in 49 minutes.
