Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M1 Pro and M1 Max Chip Now Available in Nepal

The new Macbook Pro 14-inch is now available in Nepal.

Apple unveiled the new redesigned MacBook Pro 14-inch in their virtual Unleashed event on October 18. In addition to the new 14-inch MacBook Pro, the company also announced the new 16-inch MacBook Pro and the new AirPods 3.

MacBook Pro 14 price in Nepal is Rs. 3,05,000 (M1 Pro, 8-core CPU, 14-Core GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) and Rs. 3,80,000 (M1 Pro, 10-Core CPU, 16-Core GPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD). The laptops are available for purchase via Oliz Store.

Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch Overview

Design

Apple has finally redesigned its MacBook Pro after several years. According to Apple, the MacBook Pro’s new aluminum enclosure is designed to move 50 percent more air than the previous generation, even at lower fan speeds.

The Touch Bar has also been replaced by physical function keys. Also, the keyboard is now housed in a double-anodized black well.

And finally, Apple has reintroduced the ports. It now also has an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a new MagSafe 3 charger, in addition to a 3.5mm headphone jack and three Thunderbolt 4 ports.

The side and top borders have been reduced to just 3.5mm in the new MacBook Pro. As a result, it now introduces a notch design to house the 1080p webcam.

Display

The 14-inch MacBook Pro has a 14.2-inch XDR display with a total of 5.9 million pixels, which is more than the previous 16-inch MacBook Pro.

For the first time in Mac, it is using a mini-LED technology, which can deliver up to 1,000 nits of sustained brightness, 1,600 nits of peak brightness, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

It features a stunning P3 wide color gamut and supports one billion colors. It also has Apple’s ProMotion technology, which allows for a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Hardware

With the new MacBook Pro, Apple is using its new Apple silicon SoC: M1 Pro and M1 Max.

The base variant of M1 Pro has an 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU while it can be configured up to 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU. M1 Max, on the other hand, has a 10-core CPU and the GPU can be configured up to 32-core.

According to Apple, the maxed-out M1 Pro delivers up to 70% faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than M1. M1 Pro also supports up to 32GB of fast unified memory and has a memory bandwidth of up to 200GB/s, about 3x that of M1.

M1 Max has the same 10-core CPU as M1 Pro, but doubles the GPU with up to 32 cores, allowing it to perform up to 4x faster than M1. It also has up to 400GB/s of memory bandwidth, which is 2x that of the M1 Pro and roughly 6x that of the M1, as well as up to 64GB of fast unified memory.

For storage, the base variant has 512GB SSD storage while the top-of-the-line variant has 8TB.

Battery

The 14-inch MacBook Pro has a 70Wh battery and Apple claims it delivers up to 17 hours of video playback. The new MacBook Pro now also supports fast charge, and Apple says it can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes.

This year’s most interesting product has to be the new MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max. The redesigned MacBook, the unbelievably powerful yet efficient CPU, the incredible Liquid Retina XDR display, and the return of physical function keys and ports all add to the appeal of this notebook.
