Alcatel 3T8 2020/TKEE MID Review
Design
- 209.4 x 125.2 x 8.75mm, 290 g
- Nano-SIM
Alcatel 3T8 2020 and TKEE MID share the same design language as its bigger sibling 3T10 2020. The rear of the tablet is made out of plastic with a subtle pattern.
They also get the same matte finish on the rear as the 3T10. As for weight, they measure only 290g which makes them very light compared to the 3T10.
3T8/TKEE MID has a power button and volume keys on the right side. Up top, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type C port. On the bottom, there’s a single speaker and it gets a single sim tray on the right with microSD support.
With the TKEE MID, you will get an extra cover that works as a kickstand. It’s a rugged cover that can protect the tab from occasional drops.
Overall, the design and build quality of these tablets are really good. They are simple but durable.
Display
- 8-inch HD
- 800 x 1280 pixels
- 60Hz
Alcatel 3T8/TKEE MID features an 8 inches HD display with a screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.
The display on these tablets is the same as the one used on the bigger sibling. And it shares the same problem. The display is reflective as it can get and you might have a hard time watching content in a bright room.
However, the HD resolution on an 8-inch display feels decent. It looks sharper than the 10.1-inch display of the 3T10 2020 due to a better pixel density.
Since these tablets share the same display, they have the same neutral color profile with understated contrast. For the price, the display is only average.
Hardware
- MediaTek MT8766B
- Quad-core (4×2.0 GHz A53)
- PowerVR GE8300
- 32GB 2GB RAM
In terms of hardware, they have the same MediaTek MT8766B chipset used on the 3T10 2020. But, these tablets have downgraded 2GB RAM compared to 3GB RAM on the 3T10.
While the RAM gets a cut-down, they still retain the 32GB internal storage.
Normal tasks like internet browsing, app browsing, and video calls are just fine. It can run these kinds of tasks but the experience was not smooth.
Playing heavy games is out of the question, you will only be able to play games like Alto’s Odyssey. For the price, you can get phones with better performance. However, that’s not the case for tablets as it is hard to find a tablet with good performance at this price tag.
In terms of camera, it has a 5MP rear and 5MP front camera. As with all the tablets, it is decent enough for video calling. You won’t be taking many pictures or videos with it.
Battery
- Non-removable Li-Po 4080mAh battery
- 5W charging
Alcatel 3T8 2020 and TKEE MID get a 4080mAh battery. For a tablet, it is not a great battery. You can find phones with bigger batteries than this.
As for charging, the 5W charging takes around 5 hours to fully charge the tablet.
Speaker
It looks like there’s a dual speaker setup but they only have a single speaker on the bottom. While the loudness is good enough, the speaker has a flat sound profile.

Software
Alcatel 3T10 2020/TKEE MID runs on stock Android 10. The skin has been slightly modified but most of the things are untouched. Especially the settings menu is totally like the stock Android.
Alcatel has customized the icons and added some bloatware. Except that, the OS feels like a stock Android. Some useful features like ambient display and reading mode have been added as well.
Conclusion
Alcatel TKEE MID and 3T8 2020Â are tablets for kids. Especially, the TKEE MID as it comes with a protective cover and a kickstand.
Both of these tablets do not have good performance and they can only fulfill basic tasks like watching videos. Even browsing through social media is a hectic experience on these tabs.
However, you do get 4G connectivity with these tablets. It is hard to find other tablets with 4G sim support at this price range.
So, if you want a tablet for your kids, then you should definitely check these out!
