You all know that we trashed Oppo’s latest offering, the Oppo A7, in our launch article. That was because, it was not that good for a phone that wanted to succeed Oppo’s excellent midrange offering, the Oppo F9. But, things are about to change. Oppo is finally bringing their most popular series of phones in Oppo’s lineup; the Oppo R Series in Nepal.
According to statistics from market research firms Counterpoint and Strategy Analytics, the OPPO R9 was one of 2016’s best-selling products globally and later the R9s shipped 8.9 million units for 3 percent market share worldwide in Q1 2017. Furthermore, OPPO R11 became the bestselling Android phone in 2017. So, you guys should be pretty excited that this lineup is coming to Nepal.
The R-series phones are known for their bold design, exceptional build quality, and good camera performance for the price. Most of the phones fall in the mid-range category. These R-series phones also inspire the design of OnePlus Phones. Yes, OnePlus phones use the design of the R-series phones because, apparently, it helps them keep the cost down.
The latest phones on the R-series are the Oppo R17 and Oppo R17 Pro. And, the teaser video uploaded on Oppo Nepal’s facebook page looks like the Oppo R17 Pro. They feature the waterdrop design that has given room to breathe for the notch haters. On the back, they look exactly like the OnePlus 6T but come in bold, eye-catching colors. The exact date of the entry of these smartphones hasn’t been declared. We are hoping that they will be here before the end of 2018. They will be an excellent addition to the already competitive midrange market of Nepal. So, let’s wait for the arrival of Oppo R Series in Nepal.
