Vivo Y11d Launching Soon in Nepal: But Y So Confusing?

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The vivo Y11d price in Nepal could start from Rs. 21,499 (4/128GB).
  • The device is powered by the UNISOC T7225, paired with a 6,500 mAh battery.
  • It also features an IP65 and 5-star SGS drop resistance certification.

Since 2026 rolled in, Vivo has already added two phones to its Y series lineup — the Vivo Y05 and the Vivo Y31d. And now, Vivo Nepal is on its way to launch the Vivo Y11d.

So what does this new budget offering bring to the table? Is it any different from the other Y series phones? Let’s find out.

Before jumping into the overview, let’s get the naming straight. First, we had the Y21d, then came the Y31d, and just from the naming alone, one could easily assume the Y31d is a successor to the Y21d.

But with the launch of the Y11d, things get a little confusing. The Y11d appears to sit below the Y21d, making it seem like more of a predecessor than a follow-up to the Y31d. And I say follow-up deliberately, because calling it a successor would be generous. A successor usually brings some kind of upgrade, and the Y11d simply does not clear that bar against the Y31d.

So, where exactly does the Y11d sit in Vivo’s Y lineup? Honestly, it is a bit of a mystery. But rather than overthinking the naming, let’s just look at what the phone actually offers.

The Vivo Y11d shares a lot of design DNA with the Y31d. Same-looking camera module and a flat plastic body throughout. The only major visual difference is the water-drop notch, which feels like a step backwards at this price. Punch-hole notches are now common even on cheaper phones, and the water-drop notch just looks dated in 2026.

That said, the build quality story is more reassuring. The Y11d carries an IP65 rating, and Vivo claims it survived 8 hours of rain exposure and 120 seconds of rinse testing. On top of that, there is a 5-star SGS certification for drop resistance and military-grade shock resistance, which is genuinely impressive for an entry-level phone.

Flip the phone, and you are greeted with the usual thick and uneven bezels typical of a budget phone. The display is a 6.74-inch LCD panel running HD+ resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate is a nice addition, though it is becoming increasingly common at this price point. What is actually impressive is the 1,200 nits HBM brightness, which is why Vivo has named it a Sunlight Display. And for added comfort, it also carries a TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification.

The internals do not see many changes from the Y31d. The Y11d relies on the same Unisoc T7225 chipset — a 12nm chip that is essentially a rebranded T612. It is not the fastest chip around, but for casual use like browsing, social media, and the occasional YouTube session, it gets the job done.

The phone comes in two variants, 4GB and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, both paired with 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. And just like most budget phones, you also get a dedicated microSD card slot.

On the camera front, the Y11d runs a 50MP main shooter, paired with a 0.08MP depth sensor — which, let’s be honest, is basically just there to fill the dual camera label. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter for video calls and selfies.

Now, for the most impressive part, the battery. The Y11d packs a massive 6,500mAh unit, which should comfortably last well over a day with casual use. And the 44W fast charging is similar to the Y31d, but at this price, it is really something that most rivals simply cannot match.

Lastly, the phone ships with Android 16 wrapped in OriginOS 6 out of the box. As with most budget Vivo phones, expect some ads baked into the software. But OriginOS 6 is still a better experience than the older FunTouch OS.

The Vivo Y11d feels less like it belongs in the Y21d/Y31d family and more like a direct upgrade to Vivo’s most affordable phone, the Y05. Everything from the dimensions, build quality, display, and performance remains largely identical

The only real differences are the higher memory configuration and the significantly faster 44W charging. And for just Rs. 1,000 more, the Y11d is clearly the smarter pick over the Y05.

But when you compare it against rivals like the Moto G35 and HMD Crest, which cost less and offer a lot more, the Y11d starts to feel lacking.
