Foton eTunland Launched in Nepal: Tough Pickup Meets Electric Power

Most brands in Nepal are rushing toward electrification, but Foton Nepal took a different route and rolled out a diesel pickup not too long ago. Turns out they couldn’t resist joining the EV wave after all, because they’ve now unveiled the eTunland at the NADA Auto Show 2025.

The Foton eTunland runs on a Rear-Wheel Drive (4×2) setup, powered by a 130 kW PMS Motor that can put out 350 Nm of max torque. Feeding the motor is a massive 88 kWh CATL-made, Liquid-Cooled LFP battery pack. On paper, it promises around 350 km of range under WLTC testing. Despite weighing 2220 kg, the eTunland still manages a 0 to 50 km/h sprint in just 6 seconds and can handle gradients of up to 30%.

Dimension-wise, it stands tall and wide. The pickup measures 5340 mm in length, 1940 mm in width, and 1870 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3110 mm. The ground clearance is 200 mm even when loaded (laden), and rides on 17-inch wheels. The cargo bed itself is practical with roughly 1000 liters of space, stretching 1520 mm long, 1580 mm wide, and 440 mm deep.

Inside, the eTunland leans towards comfort than ruggedness. The driver gets a 6-way Powered Adjustability, while the front passenger settles for a manual 6-way Manual Adjuster. A 12.3-inch Infotainment Display sits alongside a 12.3-inch Digital Cluster, backed by a 4-Speaker setup and modern connectivity features. And, for safety, it packs Dual Airbags, All-Wheel Disc Brakes with Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

The Foton eTunland price in Nepal is Rs. 70 Lakhs. Warranty-wise, the battery gets an 8-year (or 4,00,000 km) warranty, while the motor is covered for 5 years (or 2,00,000 km).
