Samsung focuses a lot of its attention on its flagships, foldables, and all those flashy devices. However, the same cannot be said for its midrange and budget devices.
Samsung makes one or two changes to its A series phones, takes a look and says, “Hmmn. Good enough.” and ships it to the masses. At least, that’s what it feels like to me as a phone enthusiast. But the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A07 is a different story.
This phone made me go “Huh, interesting!” a few more times than I expected. Let’s just say getting excited over Samsung’s lowest A-series member was not on my bingo card this year.
What is the Price of Samsung Galaxy A07 in Nepal?
We expect the price of the Samsung Galaxy A07 in Nepal to be around Rs. 17,999 (4/64GB). The phone has not yet launched in Nepal, but our sources shared that it will be by the end of August.
Since the phone is still in the pipeline, the prices are not official. We were just informed that the Samsung Galaxy A07 will cost under Rs. 20,000. Given that, they did not say the prices will remain unchanged, we can expect them to go up.
Considering the upgrades the phone offers, it wasn’t all that unexpected either. Let’s hope the hike isn’t very steep, and it would be best if it remains under our expected pricing of Rs. 17,999.
I have hyped up the Samsung Galaxy A07 quite a bit already. So let’s not lose steam and proceed further with what the phone has to offer:

Samsung Galaxy A07 Overview
Design and Build
The Samsung Galaxy A07 carries over the design changes we saw on all other A-series members — I am talking about the pill-shaped camera island, of course. Other than that, it does not see many changes in terms of design.
There are a few tweaks in the phone’s build, though. Firstly, the Samsung Galaxy A07 is IP54-rated. The Galaxy A06, in comparison, did not have any such certifications.
The front glass used on the Samsung Galaxy A07 has gone through a two-step tempering process. The previous model had just one-step tempered glass. Likewise, the back panel is now a GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) material instead of “Glastic”.
Although their names may have you believe that they are the same thing, they aren’t! Glastic is a marketing term usually used to refer to plastic with a glass-like coating. It could also be used for a thin sheet of glass sandwiched between plastic sheets.
Meanwhile, GFRP is an actual composite material, where plastic is infused with glass fibres during the manufacturing process. This material also has a stronger structural makeup than Glastic.
Display
The phone’s display remains almost unchanged from the previous year — it’s still a 6.7-inch unit. It’s still a PLS LCD panel. And, it’s still FHD+ in resolution and has a U-cut notch.
What has changed is the refresh rate! It has now been bumped up to 90Hz from the baseline 60Hz. That may not sound like a whole lot, especially considering phones like the Tecno Spark GO 1 already offer a 120Hz screen at a tighter budget.
But then again, Apple ships the base iPhone 16s with a 60Hz panel, so it goes both ways. Let’s just be happy that Samsung is giving its budget-centric customers a smoother display experience.

Helio G99?!
Now this is where I did not see Samsung taking a leap like it did. Let me preface this: the Samsung Galaxy A17 is coming with the same Exynos 1330 chip that powered the A16. Similarly, the Galaxy A36‘s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 was basically a sidegrade to the Exynos 1380 on the Galaxy A35.
So, I was fully expecting Samsung to ship the Galaxy A07 with the same Helio G85 as last year (and the year before that). But nope — they went ahead and shipped the thing with the MediaTek Helio G99!
What makes this even bigger is that there were still options between the Helio G81 and G99, like the G91 or G95. Samsung could have picked any of those chips, but they went with the G99. So, thank you, Samsung!
Now, you might be thinking: isn’t the G99 a bit old, given the Helio G100 and G200 came after it? To that, I say all three still benchmark in a similar ballpark. And a jump of up to 77% from the G85 is still worth getting excited about.
On top of that, the Galaxy A07 will likely be the cheapest phone to rock the Helio G99, dethroning the Itel RS 4.
Other Hardware
Accompanying the G99 is up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Last year, Nepali audiences got the 4/64GB, 4/128GB, and 6/128GB variants, so I expect we will get the same trims this time as well. A 256GB option would be nice, though.
Even if we don’t get it, it’s not the end of the world. The Samsung Galaxy A07 supports external storage expansion. The cool part? The microSD card support has jumped to 2TB, from 1.5TB. The downside? It’s a hybrid slot.
That’s about all the hardware upgrades we are getting this year. The powerhouse remains at 5,000mAh, and charging remains unchanged at 25W too.
Camera and Software
The optics department does not see any changes either. The Samsung Galaxy A07 has the same 50MP main shooter paired with a 2MP depth sensor on the back. Meanwhile, the front camera is an 8MP snapper. Both cameras are capable of recording videos at FHD@30FPS.
Software-wise, we are getting Android 15 out of the box with OneUI 7 on top. In terms of updates, the Samsung Galaxy A07 also qualifies for six years of new OS and six years of security patches. That’s a massive jump from two and four years of respective updates we previously got.
Also, this is probably the first time we are seeing such futureproofing on a budget like this.
