Xiaomi Redmi Phones on EMI in Nepal
Xiaomi is a popular brand of smartphones in Nepal, with the Redmi Note series being the go-to option for a lot of people. The popularity comes warranted, as we can always rely on the company to offer the best specs in any given price range. On top of that, Xiaomi’s pricing is extremely aggressive. We could tell it meant business.
Despite all that, Samsung still captured a large portion of the market. While we can attribute the dominance to the South Korean company’s reputation and history, it had this one ace up its sleeve — InstaFinance. On the surface, it might look like just an EMI service. But the roots went deeper than that.
It’s not like only Samsung offered EMI service, while other companies just watched. Even Xiaomi had previously tried their hand at EMI service, tying up with Nabil Bank. But there was this one fatal flaw — the process wasn’t easy!
Meanwhile, Samsung’s EMI service was as hassle-free as it gets. The process was pretty much: make sure you got a guarantor, provide photos and citizenship of both you, pay the down payment, and take the phone home.
But now things have changed! Xiaomi is here to level the playing field, and so are other companies.
We will talk about the other companies separately later. In the meantime, you could refer to our “How to Buy a Mobile Phone on EMI in Nepal (Ultimate Guide)” article, where we have gone into extreme detail on all the different kinds of Phone EMI you get in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G (12/512GB) | Rs. 54,999 | Rs. 22,000 | Rs. 3,667 | 9 Months |
Xiaomi 14T (12/512GB) | Rs. 64,999 | Rs. 26,000 | Rs. 4,333 | 9 Months |
Xiaomi 15 Ultra (16/512GB) | Rs. 1,49,999 | Rs. 60,000 | Rs. 7,500 | 12 Months |
Sadly, the 4G only variant of the Redmi Note 14 isn’t currently available on EMI in Nepal — maybe because the service is still in its early stages. Also, we found that Xiaomi’s financing hasn’t started in the New Road area, which is pretty much the smartphone hub of Kathmandu.
We can expect the company to widen its services to New Road as well as to encompass additional smartphone models sooner rather than later.
Now you know how the amount you gotta pay as a down payment, how long the loan will last, and all that stuff. After which, the next question on your mind must be…
How to Apply for Xiaomi Easy Finance?
And as I alluded to earlier, the process is the same as Samsung’s InstaFinance. Firstly, make sure you manage the following things before applying for the financing service:
- A guarantor, who will bear the responsibility and step in if you fail to meet your instalments.
- Your citizenship and two passport-sized photos.
- Same documents for the guarantor.
- The downpayment amount (see the chart below for more details)
Once you have sorted all these out, here is the…
Application Process
- Go to the nearest Xiaomi-authorised store offering Easy Finance
- Consult with them and get the paperwork done
- Pay the down payment
And it’s done! The Xiaomi smartphone is yours to take home! The process is extremely hassle-free, just the way it should be. Now that we have talked about the paperwork and the process.
Here are a few more things you should understand before getting a Xiaomi smartphone on EMI in Nepal:
- No interest or fees will be charged on the EMI
- You can apply for Xiaomi Easy Finance during office hours (10 AM–5 PM). You could still submit documents at a later time. However, you will only receive the approval and be able to take home the smartphone on the following date.
- In case of late payment, you will be penalised 2% of the total overdue amount in the given month, and your phone will be locked such that you cannot use it.
