Xiaomi Nepal has finally launched the Xiaomi Pad 5 in Nepal. It’s a successor to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4, which was launched in 2018.

After three years of a long wait, the company finally launched the tablet in China. And, it’s now available in Nepal as well, albeit only the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 price in Nepal is Rs. 44,999 for 6GB+128GB variant and Rs. 49,999 for 6GB+256GB variant.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Series Overview

Design

Xiaomi Pad 5 Series is very slim measuring just 6.86mm. The back has a matte finish to it which does not retain any fingerprint smudges. The frame of the tablet is made out of metal.

There are four speakers on the Xiaomi Pad 5: two on the bottom and two on the top. The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, on the other hand, has two more speakers on both sides, for a total of eight speakers.

Along with speaker holes, there is a mic and USB Type C port on the bottom. There’s also a mic hole on the top, as well as a power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

The volume buttons are found on the right side of the tablet. There are two more microphones beneath it, as well as a magnetic surface where the stylus can be attached.

Pogo pins are provided on the left side for accessories such as an external keyboard. And, there is no headphone jack.

Display

Both of them come with an 11-inch 120Hz IPS LCD display with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support.

The 10-bit display here has a 1600 x 2560 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Hardware

There are two different processors used in the Xiaomi Pad 5 series. The Xiaomi Pad 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset whereas the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro and 5 Pro 5G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Both have octa-core CPU, but the Snapdragon 860 has 1×2.96 GHz Kryo 485 Gold, 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 485 Gold, and 4×1.78 GHz Kryo 485 Silver, while Snapdragon 870 has 1×3.2 GHz Kryo 585, 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585, and 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 585.

For the GPU, SD 860 has an Adreno 640 and SD 870 has an Adreno 650.

Both the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro Wi-Fi variants come with 6GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage. However, the Pad 5 Pro 5G model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage only.

Camera

The regular Xiaomi Pad 5 has a single 13MP rear camera. The pro variant has dual cameras but the Wi-Fi and 5G models differ.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro Wi-Fi variant also has a 13MP main rear camera in addition to a 5MP depth sensor. The Pad 5 Pro 5G variant, on the other hand, has a 50MP main camera and the same 5MP depth sensor.

On the front, all the models have an 8MP selfie camera.

Battery & Others

Xiaomi Pad 5 has an 8720mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Whereas, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro has an 8600mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.

Furthermore, the tablets come with MIUI 12.5 optimized for Pad based on Android 11.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 price in Nepal is Rs. 44,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and Rs. 49,999 for the 6GB+256GB variant. The arrival of the Pro version, on the other hand, is unknown.
