Wuling Bingo: Budget-Friendly Electric Hatchback Launching Soon in Nepal

Wuling Bingo is launching soon in Nepal.

Paramount Motors, the new authorized distributor of Wuling electric cars in Nepal, is set to launch the newest mini hatchback for the Nepali market. It will be the second Wuling EV to enter the market after Wuling Air EV.

Wuling Bingo will be the newest yet affordable electric hatchback in Nepal. It brings a stylish EV design with a 50 kW Motor and 31.9 kWh LFP Battery.

Bingo EV is one of the popular EVs in China for its compact form factor, appealing design, and easy city maneuvering!

Previously, EV Motors was the authorized distributor of Wuling electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal. However, Paramount Motors has been appointed as a new distributor for the Wuling Bingo EV.

With this change in distibutorship, it is unclear whether Paramount Motors has joined EV Motors to sell Wuling EVs in Nepal or if the dealership has entirely shifted to Paramount Motors.

Bingo EV will an affordable and practical electric vehicle designed for eco-conscious drivers for everyday commutes.

With that said, let’s take a quick look at the Wuling Bingo EV in Nepal along with its key specifications for 2024.

Wuling Bingo Overview

Design

Wuling Bingo is a compact yet powerful hatchback, featuring a Classic Look with Dual-Tone Finishing.

It features an oval housing for LED Projector Headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED Side Indicators with Diamond-Shaped Grilles at the bottom.

Interestingly, the oval housing looks like the eye of an Anime Character. 

The Charging Port has been placed on each side, the right side houses the AC Charging port and the Left side DC charging.

Coming to the side profile, its compactness can be easily noticed with the short wheelbase and height. However, there appears to be a minimal design on the side with a dual-tone treatment in a thin strip.

The Petal-like Steel Wheel design is attractive in the first look but can look polarizing later.

Coming to the interiors, it features Glossy Ceramic with Soft Synthetic Leather Panel. The dashboard and doors feature Carbon fibre-like finishing which mismatches the vehicle’s overall aesthetics.

It features Perforated Synthetic Leather seats. interestingly, the footrest on the front is a bit higher than usual vehicles which might be uncomfortable for some.

Besides, it features a Dual 10.25-inch Displys as an Infotainment System and Instrument Console. It supports Bluetooth connection with Phones but no Android Auto and Apple Car Play. 

There is good leg space for passengers, but the headroom can be challenging for a tall person.

Nonetheless, it features 4 speakers setup with not-so-impressive sound output.

At the back, the car boasts larger LED Taillamps accompanied by Reflector Treatments in a thin strip below.

Additionally, it will be available in three color options: Milk Tea, Galaxy Blue, and Mousse Green.

Performance

Wuling Bingo EV is powered by a 50 kW PMSM Electric Motor. It generates a max power of 67PS and a max torque of 150Nm, capable of a top speed of 100Kmph.

Supported by a 31.9 kWh Lithium Ferro-Phosphate Battery, it claims a range of 333 Km. Moreover, it can charge from SOC 20% – 80% in 5.5 hours with an AC charger and SOC 30% – 80% in 35 minutes with a DC Charger.

The charging time seems slower compared to competitors, but it should provide a real-world range of 270-300 km in one full charge.

Bingo offers three different riding modes: Eco, Medium, and Sports. 

Additional Details

Mcpherson Independent Suspension and Torsion Beam Dependent Suspensions handle suspension duties.

The dimensions are 3950mm in length, 1708 mm in width, and 1580 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2560 mm.

As of now, the exact ground clearance figure of the Bingo is unknown. However, judging from its picture, it appears to be low for Nepali topography.

And, the kerb weight is 1190 Kg.

Surprisingly, it manages to offer a 310-liter boot space, which is further expandable to 790 Liters by folding the rear seats.

For safety, it includes Dual Airbags in the front. Moreover, it is guarded by Anti Lock ABS, EBD, Electric Stability Control (ESC), and ISOFIX.

Wuling Bingo Price in Nepal and Availability

Wuling Bingo price in Nepal is Rs. 32,99,000. For the first lot, it will likely be available in a single variant. Depending upon the market response, Paramount Motors is likely to add multiple Bingo variants to its portfolio.

On paper, it hints to become an enticing offering for the Nepali market. However, the cost-cutting measures for the Nepali market is still to be seen.

Wuling Bingo is likely to rival the Tata Tiago EV.

Tiago EV is built on the Ziptron Platform, claiming a larger electric motor, spacious interior, and flagship 8-speaker Harman sound system. However, it comes with a few drawbacks like the old-fashioned Instrument Console and drum brakes in the rear.

On the other hand, the Bingo EV looks more appealing with its neo-classic styling, a larger battery, and an all-disc braking setup.

Moreover, it features impressive Dual 10.25-inch displays such as an Infotainment System and Instrument Console.  And, the interior feels premium too with a synthetic leather finish.

To summarize, Wuling Bingo has the potential to outperform the Tata Tiago EV in Nepal. However, Wuling Bingo demands a larger asking price without the same infrastructure and charging network as Tata Nepal!

Nonetheless, the success of Wuling Bingo will also depend on the cost-cutting measures that Wuling Nepal implements in the Bingo.
