Ultima Bass 430 Launched in Nepal: Ultima’s First-Ever Headphone

Ultima is known for delivering a range of budget smartwatches, soundbars, speakers, microphones, power banks, and a wide selection of TWS earbuds. Now, the brand has entered the headphone segment for the first time with the Ultima Bass 430.

Ultima has built a pretty wide product range over the years, but headphones were the one category still missing from that list.

Ultima has been making quite a name for itself in Nepal’s affordable audio market with its wide range of TWS earbuds. Now, the brand is stepping into the headphone segment, and hopefully, it follows the same formula by offering solid value without pushing the price too high.

Ultima Bass 430 Headphone Overview

The design is fairly straightforward. It is an on-ear wireless headphone with a simple look, available in Green, Blue, and Black. There is nothing particularly flashy about it, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The more understated design should make it easy to use as an everyday pair of headphones.

The biggest highlight here is the battery life. Ultima claims up to 60 hours of playtime, which is quite a lot for a headphone at this price. It packs a 400mAh battery, which the company says can deliver over 300 hours of standby time.

When it’s time to recharge, the Bass 430 uses a USB Type-C port and takes about 2 hours to go from 0 to 100%. Charging is the usual 5W, which is pretty standard for budget wireless headphones.

For audio, the Ultima Bass 430 comes with 40mm drivers. This is a fairly common driver size for headphones and should provide a fuller sound compared to smaller drivers commonly found in earbuds. Ultima is positioning the Bass 430 around bass-heavy listening, as the name suggests. So if you enjoy music with a bit more punch, the 40mm drivers should be able to deliver that kind of experience.

Of course, driver size alone doesn’t tell you how good a headphone actually sounds. Tuning plays a major role too. And since it is a budget headphone, the bass might be a bit more emphasized than the treble and mids, which is usually the case with headphones in this price range.

The headphone also features a 40ms low-latency Mode, which is designed to reduce the delay between what’s happening on your screen and what you hear through the headphones.

This can be particularly useful for mobile gaming, where even a small amount of audio delay can be noticeable. You won’t necessarily get zero latency, but 40ms should make the experience more responsive. And considering the price, having a dedicated low-latency mode is a nice addition.

The Bass 430 also keeps things simple when it comes to controls. You get easy-access physical buttons for volume and playback, so you don’t have to pull out your phone every time you want to change the volume or skip a song.

For connectivity, the headphones work wirelessly, but you also get an AUX port. This is another useful addition because you can still use the headphones with a wired connection when the battery runs out or when you simply don’t want to use Bluetooth.

Before Ultima stepped in, there wasn’t much to choose from if you wanted headphones from a trustworthy brand on a budget. Xage had a few options, but the choices were pretty limited. Soundcore does make some genuinely great headphones, but those sit well above what most budget buyers are looking to spend.

So with the entry of Ultima into the budget headphone segment, that gap finally gets filled. And it comes from a brand that’s already proven itself with earphones, smartwatches, and other accessories in Nepal, so it’s not some unknown name taking a shot in the dark.

For Rs. 2,999, the Bass 430 might not be the most feature-packed headphone out there, but it’s a solid first step. And if this is what Ultima’s first headphone looks like, it’ll be worth keeping an eye on where they take this category next.
