Should You Buy a Second-Hand Motorcycle?

In retrospect, it just depends on you.

Why are you buying a new motorcycle? Are you a learner or a novice? Do you plan to sell that motorcycle in the future?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, you might want to consider buying a second hand. Firstly, novice riders need a few months to get their hands on riding. Plus, you might be more prone to road accidents.

With a brand-new motorcycle, you have to be more careful. Furthermore, each scratch on the new paint hurts like hell! Why risk it? Instead, buy a used motorcycle, practice with that one. And, when you are ready, buy a new one with full confidence!

Again, the same can be said if you already plan on selling it in the future.

What are the Factors that Affect the Resell Value?

According to the Second Hand market representatives, there’s no right answer. Also, there’s always plenty of factors that go into a motorcycle, before coming up with a market valuation.

However, if you do plan on selling or buying a second hand bikes in Nepal, two things usually play a major role: Motorcycle Lot and Condition. You might want to consider those for yourself.

Which is the Least Popular Brand on the Nepali Second Hand Market? Should I Be Worried?

You can look at it as both a pro and a con. Maybe, you don’t want to sell their Yamaha or their Hero motorcycles.

Maybe, that’s why they don’t really end up in the market as much as a Bajaj or Honda.

Basically, the brand with less demand on the market is deemed as the least popular in terms of valuation and resell in the market.

Technically, all the bikes that didn’t make the list can be deemed as “Least Popular” but that wouldn’t make sense. But all the brands are sellable in the market with a slight difference in price.

So, no… you should not be worried.

According to the survey, Suzuki motorcycles are the least popular brands in the second-hand market. Don’t worry, KTM, Benelli along all the less popular brands are also included here.

But, why?

Two words: Less Demand.
