HIGHLIGHTS
- The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 price in Nepal starts at Rs. 2,44,999 (12/256GB).
- This is Samsung’s thinnest foldable with a razor-thin unfolded thickness of 4.2mm.
- The Fold7 brings upgrades in many areas over the Fold6
Not so long ago, Samsung was the industry leader in the foldable space. And after a few years, Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, and most significantly, Honor left Uncle Sammy in the dust.
Having seen the Vivos and Honors of the world pump out folding phones so thin that they bend physics — and definitely our minds — I remember being quite unimpressed with the Galaxy Fold6. So, it was about time Samsung shifted gears, and shift gears they have.
What is the Price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in Nepal?
While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 was launched globally on July 9, the Nepali audience will only be able to get their hands on this phone on August 15, 2025.
Meanwhile, for all the people who have already decided that they ARE getting this phone, you can pre-book a unit from 7 to 14 August by visiting the Samsung Campaign website and paying a tiny advance of just Rs. 5,000. Saying that felt wrong, but considering the phone’s price, five grand is indeed a measly sum.
Pricing-wise, the international market saw a $100 hike, making the latest Samsung foldable a two-thousand-dollar phone. Similarly, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in Nepal has also increased to Rs. 2,44,999 (12/256GB), which is very close to our initial estimate of Rs. 2,49,999.
Pre-booking Offers
Talking of the offers, pre-booking the phone qualifies you to receive a storage upgrade to 512GB worth Rs. 15,000 at just Rs. 5,000. Or, you could opt to grab the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro instead, which will run you an additional Rs. 14,999 instead of the wearable’s original MRP of Rs. 31,999.
All the buyers of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 get a one-time breakage insurance for a year through NLG Insurance Company Ltd. Meanwhile, they could avail themselves of getting the phone through hassle-free EMI or by trading in their older phone.
I have already mentioned how Samsung was getting outclassed in the same foldable space that it helped pioneer. However, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is one of those substantial upgrades that gets you all excited. With this phone, the brand flexes its muscles, tightens its grip, and shows all its might — as if to say, “I AM HERE”. (Yes, that’s an All Might reference.)
This phone doesn’t make the Z Fold series a no-brainer choice by any means. But it does bring it back into the conversation and contention.
Al-might Alright! I am excited to talk more about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, so without further ado… let’s-a do:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Overview
Design
Right off the bat, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 looks completely different. Not because the design has changed — that’s about the same, but because it has shed some weight.
While trimming down its phone’s thickness seems to be Samsung’s theme this year, you can tell this is what Samsung was preparing itself for. The Galaxy Fold Special Edition and the Galaxy S25 Edge were just a sneak peek for this phone, because it is 10% lighter and 25 or almost 27% thinner than its predecessor (depending on whether you take the numbers when folded or unfolded).
For context, Fold6 was closer in thickness to the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate — a phone that could fold twice, than to the thicker variant of the Honor Magic V3! (12.1mm vs 12.8mm vs 9.3mm). Now, with the Galaxy Fold7, with its 4.2mm unfolded thinness, Samsung has finally caught up with its competition.
This phone is still rated IP48, which is quite good for a folding phone. Samsung was the only company offering dust protection on its folding phone for quite some time. However, starting this year, both Vivo and Honor upped the ante by shipping their foldable with an IP58 as well as an IP59 rating.
So, despite being really good, IP48 isn’t industry-leading anymore. Maybe we will see Samsung give its phone a better dust and ingress protection next time.
The build on this thing is solid, though. We are getting Advanced Armor Aluminium in the frame and hinge housing, which is apparently 10% tougher and harder. The back panel and cover display are layered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Ceramic 2, respectively.

Displays
Looks like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 hit the gym quite hard because not only did it go thinner and lighter, it got larger too! The displays are now 6.5 and 8 inches, up from 6.3 and 7.6 inches last year.
The phone reaps the benefits of higher resolution and higher pixel density from this increase. The outer display is now a full-on 1080p screen with normal phone proportions.
Meanwhile, the Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) that the larger screen was layered with is 50% thicker this time around. Samsung also says it has implemented a titanium plate layer with this display, which restructured it to be thinner and lighter, yet stronger.
To trim down the phone’s thickness, the company also got rid of the digitiser that gave it the ability to work with a stylus. So, S-Pen support is “none for all” on the Samsung Galaxy Fold7. (This will be the last All Might reference, I promise)
It’s a bummer that the phone’s tablet-like functionality is gone. Personally, it feels like that limits the Fold’s potential. But maybe the masses weren’t utilising the feature as much, giving Samsung the confidence to omit it.
Other than that, it’s standard business with the displays — refresh rate as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz, 16 million colour depth, and brightness reaching 2,600 nits.

Performance
There isn’t anything unexpected in terms of performance. The Samsung Galaxy Fold7 gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy for its brains. Obviously. It ships in three variants: 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 16GB/1TB.
The Nepali audiences are getting the first two options, but no words on the big, bad 16GB/1TB variant yet. However, given that Samsung Nepal brought the Galaxy 25 Ultra with a terabyte of storage, we can hope that they might do the same for Fold7 as well.
Now, for the powerhouse, it’s a 4,400mAh cell — the same as last year. Two things: yes, it’s impressive that they fit the same amount of juice despite thinning the phone so much. But the Chinese brands are packing batteries with 6,000mAh capacity or more by taking advantage of the new silicon-carbon technology.
What makes matters worse is that the Galaxy Flip7 now has a 4,300mAh battery, just 100mAh short of the Fold7. That’s a blow to this book-style foldable’s image, especially considering it has to power two large displays and is aimed at power users who will demand more out of this phone.
Charging could have been better too. While one can live with 15W and 7.5W standard and reverse wireless charging speeds just fine, the 25W of wired charging feels a bit bitter, particularly at this price point. If 80W or even 66W speeds, which its Chinese rivals are offering, are too much to ask, Samsung could have at least matched the 45W charging that its S and even A-series siblings are enjoying.
Maybe Samsung is still haunted by the whole Note 7 fiasco, which makes them so reluctant to mess with their battery tech too much.
Cameras
Moving on to the optics — a department that sees quite an upgrade, and yet is lacking. Let’s get the upgrades out of the way first.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 now has the same primary shooter as the best the company has to offer, i.e. S25 Ultra. As such, it is a 200MP unit. Next, the god-awful 4MP under-display selfie camera has finally been put to rest. A 10MP snapper with 100° field-of-view and a hole punch cutout has taken its place.
In the meantime, the supporting shooters on the back remain unchanged, those being a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP 3x telephoto camera.
Now, towards the lacking part of the equation. While the hardware’s specs on paper seem great, the phone apparently uses thinner lenses to maintain its slim profile, which messes with image clarity.
Furthermore, these phones coming out of the PRC are cramming a whole periscope telephoto into their camera system. Some are even pairing standard and periscope telephotos on top of the primary and ultrawide combo. As a result, Fold7’s camera setup doesn’t look as impressive.
Like I said, quite an upgrade, yet lacking. Anyway, Samsung’s image processing is quite good and consistent, which counts for something. Then there is this whole suite of AI-powered editing tools, which is yet to be matched by anyone else in the industry.
Software and Extras
Now let’s talk about another thing Samsung nails: the software. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is coming straight with One UI 8 based on Android 16! Meaning, the Z series phones completely skipped One UI 7 and Android 15. As for updates, it’s seven years of support for both OS and security patches.
Another unsuspecting update the Fold7 gets is in the security department, which now comes with quantum-resistant encryption. What does that mean? Hackers likely wouldn’t be able to crack into your phone even if they attacked with a quantum computer. Will they, though? Not anytime soon. But it’s good to know your phone is secured, I guess.
Then there is this interesting bit I noticed. Samsung speakers are capable of 32-bit/384kHz audio output, which is overkill over the 24-bit/192kHz that other folding phones offer. It is well beyond what an average human can perceive and doesn’t offer practical use for consumers. But is it better than the competition? Sure. *shruggs*
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 price in Nepal is Rs. 2,44,999 (12/256GB) and Rs. 2,59,999 (12/512GB). It is available for pre-booking starting from 7 August and will continue to be available until 14 August.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 | Price in Nepal | OFFERS |
---|---|---|
12/256GB | Rs. 2,44,999 | Storage upgrade to 512GB at Rs. 5,000 or Galaxy Buds3 Pro at Rs. 14,999 + 1 year one-time breakage insurance |
12/512GB | Rs. 2,59,999 | Available at Rs. 2,49,999 via storage upgrade + 1 year one-time breakage insurance |
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 brings a generational upgrade over the Fold6. It has gone thinner and lighter but is larger and more powerful. The main camera is now on par with that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone is looking solid overall.
While Fold7 still faces competition from reputable Chinese brands, the Nepali market is a free real estate for Samsung, as the said Chinese brands have next to no presence here. This makes Samsung Galaxy Fold7 a winner in the category by default, but this time, the product is something that can put up a fair fight all across the globe!
