Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Overview
Design
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is enclosed in a clean, slippery metal body, giving it a premium feel. The top left corner (when held vertically) of the tab has a single rear camera lens with no flash that has a bit of a camera bump.
The volume and power buttons are located on the top right side of the phone, which can be pressed using the left index finger when held horizontally. The bottom side has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and two speakers. Additional two speakers are on the top side of the tablet, making it a quad-speaker system.
Display
The Tab A8 features a 10.5-inch TFT LCD display that has a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels.
It’s a 16:10 aspect ratio display, which is a plus, but the TFT panel will not give you the best movie experience as its colour reproduction and sharpness will not be that great.
Hardware
Powering the tablet is a Unisoc T618 chipset, which has a Mali G52 MP2 GPU and eight CPU cores: 2x 2.0GHz Cortex-A75 cores and 6x 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores.
The SoC here is an entry-level SoC, so it is not meant for power users. It’s barely enough for daily tasks, such as watching movies, browsing, and online meetings only.
Moving on, the Tab A8’s quad-speaker setup supports Dolby Atmos, which should give users a pleasant sound experience. The tab has 4GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card.
Camera
For video calling, clicking document pictures, or casual photos, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
Both cameras can also shoot video up to 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery and Others
The device is fueled by a 7040mAh battery, which should provide a good battery life. It also supports 15W fast charging, but sadly, only a 7.75W charger is included in the box.
Furthermore, it runs on One UI 3 on top of the Android 11 OS. And, it also supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, the LTE variant also supports a SIM card LTE connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 price in Nepal is Rs. 35,499 for 4/64GB and Wi-Fi only variant, Rs. 42,499 for 4/64GB and Wi-Fi + LTE variant, and Rs. 45,999 for 4/128GB and Wi-Fi + LTE variant. It is available at Samsung-authorized stores across Nepal.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
4/64GB (Wi-Fi only) | Rs. 35499 |
4/64GB (Wi-Fi + LTE) | Rs. 42499 |
4/128GB (Wi-Fi + LTE) | Rs. 45999 |
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is a good-looking tablet from Samsung with a metal build. It sports a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos for an amazing sound. The battery life of the device should also be really good.
However, it comes with an entry-level chipset, which can result in the slow performance of the tablet. Also, the TFT display of the Tab A8 is inferior to IPS or AMOLED panels.
Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is not recommended for heavy users or gamers. It’s better suited to light users, such as elderly people who just need a device for light social media use and video calling, or students who need a light device for online classes and video streaming.
