Galaxy Tab A11 Launched in Nepal: A Good Budget Samsung Tablet?

Samsung is making a much-needed push into the budget tablet market with its latest entry, the Galaxy Tab A11. It’s the most affordable tablet in Samsung’s current lineup.

Usually, Samsung’s budget and mid-tier devices, whether smartphones or tablets, haven’t really stood out in terms of pricing or value. But the new Galaxy Tab A11 might just change that.

What is the Price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 in Nepal?

Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 price in Nepal is Rs. 19,499 (4/64GB) for the Wi-Fi only variant and Rs. 30,999 (8/128GB) for the LTE model.

The Wi-Fi only variant is available for purchase via authorized retail and online stores. However, the LTE model has not been launched in Nepal yet, but it’s expected to hit store shelves in the coming week.

Unfortunately, Samsung is skipping the 25W charger this time, something it used to include with nearly all of its devices, except for the premium Galaxy S series.

There aren’t many choices when it comes to budget tablets. Right now, the main options are Xiaomi’s lineup and Samsung’s own year-old Galaxy Tab A9.

But with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 officially hitting the shelf, things are starting to get interesting as it could give the Redmi Pad 2 some serious competition.

So, let’s take a closer look at what the Galaxy Tab A11 brings to the table.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 Overview

At first glance, the Galaxy Tab A11 looks like a mini version of last year’s Galaxy Tab S10 series. The screen measures just 8.7 inches, making it compact enough to hold comfortably in one hand. However, despite the smaller size, it’s fairly thick at 8mm, something you’ll definitely notice once you pick it up.

The flat aluminum back and frame add a nice, sturdy feel, giving it a premium touch for a budget tablet. On the camera side, there’s an 8MP rear lens and a 5MP front shooter, a decent bump from the 2MP selfie camera on the older Tab A9.

As expected from Samsung’s entry-level tablets, the Tab A11 sticks with a TFT LCD panel. It does support a 90Hz refresh rate, though the HD+ resolution might feel underwhelming for some. Still, given its budget positioning, it’s an understandable compromise.

Powering the device is the popular MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a solid performer in this price range. Its closest competitor, the Redmi Pad 2, runs on the newer G100, so Samsung’s choice here isn’t too far behind.

The Galaxy Tab A11 comes in two variants, Wi-Fi only and LTE. The Wi-Fi model packs 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, while the LTE version steps it up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The base storage might feel a bit limiting, but thankfully, both variants include a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB of expandable storage.

The only real downside here is the 5,100mAh battery, which feels a bit small for a tablet. Samsung could’ve easily packed in a larger cell. And to make matters worse, the Tab A11 only supports 15W charging, so refueling it is going to be painfully slow.

On the bright side, the tab gets a massive 7 generations of OS upgrades and security updates just like Samsung’s flagship smartphones.

So, to sum it up, the Galaxy Tab A11, at least the Wi-Fi only model, holds up fairly well for what it is, a budget tablet. However, the LTE model is quite the opposite. With price exceeding the Rs. 30,000 mark, the LTE variant is really shaping up to be an unworthy deal.

Furthermore, like most entry-level Samsung tablets, the display is its weakest link, especially when compared to alternatives like the Redmi Pad 2, which offers a slightly larger screen and higher resolution.

That said, if you’re looking for a simple tablet for your kids or for light, casual use like streaming, browsing, or reading, the base model gets the job done without much fuss. But when stacked against its predecessor, the Tab A9, there’s hardly any real upgrade here. It’s essentially the same tablet with a newer Android version and a few minor tweaks.
