Samsung Galaxy A26 Overview
Design
The biggest change in the Galaxy A26 is its pill-shaped camera module, similar to the A36 and A56. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right side of a raised frame, which Samsung calls Key Island.
On the bottom, there is a USB-C, mono-speaker, and microphone. The mono-speaker is a downgrade considering we got a stereo speaker last year on the A25. Samsung has also removed the 3.5mm jack, signaling a shift away from it in budget phones.
The Samsung A26 is heavier than any other phone in the A-20 series. It is thinner than the A25, which was expected, as both the A36 and the A56 were thinner than their predecessor, A35 and A55.
The plastic back that we saw on A25 is now gone as well, replaced by a glass back for a more premium feel—likely the reason for the added weight.
The A26 is certified IP67 dust and water-resistant. The phone comes in three colors in Nepal: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Light Green

Display
The A26 sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. The larger display compared to last year’s model is a plus, as it makes the bezels appear slightly thinner.
However, the phone has a noticeable chin. This combined with the infinity-U design for the selfie camera, makes the phone feel outdated for this price.
Given the A26’s price, Samsung should have included a punch-hole camera, especially since even entry-level phones like the Tecno Spark Go 1 have it.
Other than that, Samsung has done a great job adding a Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection not only to the front, but to the back as well, making the A26 more resistant to drops.
Hardware
Samsung has decided to use its in-house Exynos 1380 chipset on the Galaxy A26, continuing the trend of using last-gen A30-series processor or the current A20-series.
The Exynos 1380 has four 2.4GHz ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores, four 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and the ARM Mali-G68 GPU. Although it’s an older processor, its performance is comparable to the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 found in the recently launched Galaxy A36.
So, the Galaxy A26 could be a cheaper alternative to the A36 without compromising much on performance.
Besides the processor, the Galaxy A26 offers 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. And if you want more, the phone also supports a microSD card (up to a massive 2TB).
Camera and AI
The Galaxy A26 retains the same triple-camera setup as its predecessor, featuring a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it includes a 13MP front-facing camera.
Since the camera specs remain unchanged from last year, the image quality should be similar to the A25, which was decent. However, zooming in may reveal a lack of detail, a drawback likely to persist in the A26.
Moving to the videos, the rear camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the front one takes up to 1080P videos at 30fps.
Nowadays, every phone needs AI features. The Galaxy A26 includes the impressive Circle to Search—a must-have feature today, rightfully so. It also offers Edit Suggestion, Create Filter, Object Eraser, and Photo Remaster.
Battery and OS
The Samsung Galaxy A26 packs the standard 5,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging support. Looks like the A26 will not be getting the beefy 45W fast charging that we got on the A36 and A56.
Unfortunately, like other phones in the A-series, a charger is not included in the packaging. However, Samsung bundles a 25W charger in its budget phones for the Nepali market, and this year is no different.
Out of the box, the phone runs on the latest Android 15 topped with One UI 7, which we still haven’t seen in last year’s flagship, the S24-series. And just like A35 and A56, A26 also features 6 years of OS and security updates, which is a massive win.
Samsung Galaxy A26 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A26 price in Nepal is Rs. 45,999 (8/256GB). The phone is available for purchase at Samsung-authorized retailers as well as online stores.
Customers can purchase the Galaxy A26 on 0% EMI via Samsung’s InstaFinance or trade it through SabkoPhone and ArkoStore, with the option to combine both offers.

The incremental upgrades like glass back and Victus+ protection stand out compared to last year’s model. But does it stand out against the competition?
In my opinion, the higher price tag is a dealbreaker, and if you go slightly over your budget, you get phones like the Nothing Phone (3a) and Redmi Note 14 Pro+, which, in my opinion, provide a better value for money.
