MV Dugar Group has officially taken on the role of distributing Revolt Motors in Nepal, marking a significant entry into the country’s growing electric two-wheeler market. The company has launched five electric motorcycles, with the Revolt RV400 leading the charge as its flagship model.

Originally launched in 2019, the RV400 gained attention as India’s first AI-enabled electric motorcycle. Fast forward to 2025, and Revolt Motors has solidified its position among the top 10 electric two-wheeler brands in India. Its expanding lineup now includes models such as the RV400 BRZ, RV BlazeX, RV1+, and RV1, all of which have debuted in Nepal as well.

The RV400 rides on a platform co-developed with Chinese EV brand Super Soco, a name already familiar to Nepali consumers through its own electric offerings.

This shared engineering could make Revolt’s bikes easier to accept in Nepal’s emerging EV landscape.

In India, Revolt leveraged its first-mover advantage to carve out a niche in the electric motorcycle segment. While major players like Bajaj and TVS have recently entered the EV space, their focus remains heavily skewed toward electric scooters, leaving electric motorcycles with less competition.

Design

The Revolt RV400 embraces a street-naked design with a strong focus on rider ergonomics. Its overall appearance mirrors that of a conventional petrol-powered motorcycle, allowing it to blend effortlessly into everyday traffic.

At the front, a neatly integrated Hexagonal LED headlamp sits between USD forks, giving the bike a compact and purposeful look. The raised handlebars promote an upright riding posture, enhancing comfort during city commutes.

From the side, the RV400’s design takes on a sportier character. Revolt positions the battery compartment low in the chassis to maintain a well-balanced center of gravity. Sharp tank shrouds and large, sculpted side panels amplify the bike’s aggressive stance.

Just below the battery, an air intake placed ahead of the motor compartment aids in cooling. This component mimics the inlets of jet engines which is a functional element in the bike but at the same time, it also enhances the overall visual appeal.

At the rear side, a lightweight Aluminum Swingarm connects the wheel, while a centrally mounted Monoshock takes care of suspension duties. The RV400 rides on 17-inch Aluminum Alloy Wheels, adding to its agile feel and modern look.

The tail section remains sleek and minimalist but does features an LED Taillight. Revolt’s design team has done a commendable job maintaining a clean rear profile without compromising the bike’s familiar silhouette.

On the tech side, the RV400 comes equipped with a convenient Push-Start Button located on the tank area.

The LCD Instrument Cluster displays key information such as Ride Modes, Battery Percentage, Temperature Readings (for both ambient and battery), along with a Speedometer, Trip Meter, and Ampere Meter.

However, the display can be slightly difficult to read under direct sunlight.

Revolt positions the RV400 as an “AI-enabled electric bike.” It features an inbuilt 4G SIM and connects to the “MyRevolt” app, offering smart features like Geo-Fencing*, Real-time Battery Diagnostics, Ride History, and Low-Battery alerts.

Revolt Nepal is developing the Geo-Fencing feature specifically for the Nepal models of the RV400.

Designed as an anti-theft system, Geo-Fencing alerts the rider through the app if the bike moves outside a user-defined area.

Additionally, the system gathers usage data, allowing Revolt to refine its services and enhance future models based on real-world feedback.

Performance

The Revolt RV400 is powered by a 3 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that delivers a peak power output of 5.3 PS and a massive 170 Nm of torque.

It is supported by a 3.24 kWh Lithium-ion Battery pack, which delivers an ARAI-certified range of 150 km in Eco mode. In Normal and Sport modes, the range drops to 100 km and 80 km respectively. A standard Regenerative Braking System helps extend the overall riding range slightly by recovering energy during deceleration.

For charging the battery pack, a regular 15A wall socket is enough. This connects via a port located on the bike’s right side panel. A full charge takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

The 19 kg battery pack is removable, allowing you to remove and charge it separately if needed. In India, Revolt has set up battery swapping stations where riders can exchange a drained battery for a fully charged one.

The Revolt app simplifies this process by helping locate nearby swapping stations. The app also offers key functionalities like Remote Bike Start and Access to Virtual Exhaust Notes.

However, the distributors in Nepal have clearly stated that they have no plans to introduce battery swapping stations in the near future.

Coming back, the RV400 features built-in speakers that simulate four distinct exhaust sounds: Revolt, Rebel, Roar, and Rage that is controlled through the app. For those who prefer a quieter ride, there’s also an option to mute the sound entirely.

The bike’s top speed varies with the selected ride mode: 45 km/h in Eco, 65 km/h in Normal, and 85 km/h in Sport. The system electronically limits the speed to maintain efficiency and battery health.

37 mm USD forks at the front and a Monoshock at the rear handles suspension duties.

In terms of dimensions, it measures 2156 mm in length, 813 mm in width, and 1112 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1350 mm.
