Realme 8 Pro Overview

Design

Realme 8 Pro has a polycarbonate build as its rear panel is made using a process called AG crystal process that gives it a combination of a glossy and matte finish.

There’s a rectangular quad camera on the back with big lenses and Realme has slapped “DARE TO LEAP” lettering on the back. Realme is calling it the Infinite Bold Design.

From the front, it looks similar to last year’s model with a hole-punch on the top left corner and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Display

Upfront, it gets a 6.4 inches FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. It is not a high refresh rate display but it still has a 180Hz touch sampling rate.

They are using the display panel from Samsung and it is expected to reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

Hardware

Unexpectedly, Realme is sticking with the same Snapdragon 720G chipset used on its predecessor. It comes with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.

While a processor upgrade would have been nice, it does not look bad against its competition. Snapdragon 732G used on the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is not a big upgrade over Snapdragon 720G.

Camera

Like the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Realme 8 Pro is using a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor. Along with the new sensor, Realme is touting the In-sensor zoom technology that can apparently take 3X zoom photos that are almost as good as 3X optical zoom photos.

Realme 8 Pro Camera

The main camera is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and 2MP monochrome sensor.

On the front, it has a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies.

Battery and Others

Realme 8 Pro has the same 4500mAh battery as the Realme 7 Pro. It uses 50W SuperDart charging but it is shipped with a 65W charger.

Furthermore, it runs on Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11.

Realme 8 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability

Realme 8 Pro price in India starts at INR 17,999 (approx NPR 28848). So, we expect Realme 8 Pro price in Nepal to be around Rs. 33,000 in Nepal.

Realme 8 Pro’s main highlight is the 108MP camera along with the new in-sensor zoom tech, tilt-shift tech, and other camera features. While it gets a better AMOLED panel, it is still a 60Hz display. Also, it doesn’t get upgrade interms of the chipset.

If you put it side by side with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Realme 8 Pro looks slightly underwhelming.
