OnePlus Watch 2 With 100-Hour Battery Life Now Available in Nepal

After 3 years of no updates, OnePlus has finally refreshed its smartwatch lineup with the launch of the OnePlus Watch 2. The smartwatch is now available for purchase in the Nepalese market.

The OnePlus Watch 2 is OnePlus’ flagship wearable tech. It comes in a stainless steel body, a long-lasting battery life, and two processors running two entirely separate operating systems. Read below to learn in more detail.

OnePlus Watch 2 Overview

Design and Display

Looking at the design of the OnePlus Watch 2, the smartwatch comes in a circular dial design. The smartwatch body consists of stainless steel sides and injection molded plastic back that houses the sensor array.

The watch has two buttons, one circular crown-like button, and another, a traditional-shaped action button. Both buttons are capable of interacting with and navigating the watch interface. The watch comes with swappable and much more durable Fluoro rubber wrist straps than silicone wrist straps.

Talking about the display of the smartwatch, it’s a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that has a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The display can achieve a max brightness of 600nits and a high brightness mode of 1000nits. Adding to its list of functionality, the display also comes with an always-on mode for easy timekeeping.

The body of the OnePlus Watch 2 is rated IP68 water and dust-resistant. For added durability, the entire front portion of the display is encased with sapphire crystal glass.

Health and Other Features

With the included sensor array and navigation features, the OnePlus Watch 2 can track the user’s health/wellness and fitness. The watch can track heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, female health, and sleep.

Fitness-wise, the OnePlus Watch 2 can detect six different types of activities automatically and more than 100 different sports modes, including water-based sports activities. All these activities can then be kept and analyzed further through the smartwatch’s Ohealth companion app.

For a personalized feel and look. the OnePlus Watch 2 comes with 80 downloadable and 20 custom OnePlus watch faces. You can further customize the tiles and complications of the watch faces to suit your needs better.

The watch also has built-in NFC functionality which can be used for digital payments (in supported countries only) if you have bound your mobile wallet to the OnePlus Watch. However, in Nepal, this feature needs to be implemented.

Hardware

For basic tasks like looking at the time, tracking health, and receiving phone calls, the OnePlus Watch 2 runs RTOS (Real Time Operating System) on the low-powered BES2700BP microcontroller.

For high-power applications and functionalities like running Google Maps or Android WearOS, the smartwatch switches to the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor.

The smartwatch also comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Additionally, it has 4GB eMMC storage for the RTOS.

Battery and Connectivity

The watch uses a proprietary magnetic puck connector to charge the watch. To power the smartwatch, OnePlus has included a 500mAh battery that OnePlus claims will give the watch a 100-hour battery life with normal usage, and 12 days in power-saving mode.

OnePlus has achieved this feat by including entirely two different processors and two different operating systems that switch automatically to use as little power as possible. This saves battery life whenever the watch is not in use, and whenever the user wants to use the high-power apps, the watch runs them without a hitch.

Connectivity-wise, the watch uses Bluetooth 5.0 to connect to your smartphone. It also comes with GPS tracking functionalities and support for dual-band Wi-Fi.

The OnePlus Watch 2 price in Nepal is Rs. 44,990. It is available for purchase at online stores as well as physical retailers across Nepal.
