OnePlus has hiked the price of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G in Nepal. It’s a successor to the OnePlus Nord CE 5G that was launched last year.

After the price hike, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 48,999 (8/128GB). The phone is available in mobile retail stores across Nepal and online at Daraz.

The price of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has also increased. The smartphone is brought to the country by OnePlus’s authorized national distributor Smart Talk Pvt. Ltd.

Design

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G has a glossy finish on the back with a huge rectangular transparent rear camera module, identical to Oppo Reno 7.

The power button is on the right side, and the volume buttons are located on the right side, beneath a SIM card + microSD card tray. The bottom houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, a mic, USB Type-C port, and a speaker.

Display

Similar to its predecessor, the Nord CE 2 has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate support. However, this time, it supports HDR10+.

It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The display has a cutout on the top left corner for the selfie camera and has a thick chin bezel. And, it features an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus has gone with a MediaTek chipset for the Nord CE 2 5G. It is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC that is based on a 6nm process node.

The processor has two 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 CPU cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores. For the GPU, it comes with a Mali-G68 MC4.

Although the phone comes in two memory configurations, OnePlus plans to launch only one in the country with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone also supports a microSD card for storage expansion, which is rare for OnePlus’ phones.

Camera

The phone has a triple rear camera setup. The setup includes the same 64MP main camera, the 8MP ultrawide camera, and the 2MP macro camera.

The main camera can shoot video up to 4K at 30 fps. On the front, it has a 16MP camera, which can shoot up to 1080p at 60 fps.

Battery and Others

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G comes with a 4500mAh battery and a 65W SuperVOOC fast charger.

In terms of software, it runs on OxygenOS 11 on top of Android 11.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 48,999 (8/128GB). The phone is available in mobile retail stores across Nepal and online at Daraz. Earlier, it was Rs. 1,500 cheaper.

According to OnePlus, the price rise of its phone is the result of the recent increase in excise duty on mobile imports from 2.5 percent to 5 percent.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G brings an upgrade in terms of performance over its predecessor with the MediaTek Dimensity 900. It still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and also introduces microSD support.

It now comes with 65W fast charging. However, the cameras are unchanged. I would have also preferred it if the display could support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
