Cheers Nepal with sponsorship from UNDP is organizing a Mock Youth Parliament in order to bring together the brightest minds of Nepal. The program would be sort-of a mock parliament where there will be discussions and debates on national issues that have raised public interests.
The program is expected to lead way to a larger venture of Cheers Nepal (which is going to take place after 2 weeks) – a platform where the youths could share their ideas and actions related to the problems that the country is facing and eventually, brainstorm solutions to those problems.
TechLekh is a media partner of the event, and our readers will get to learn about the happenings of the event as well. Since our domain is more focused on targeting tech entrepreneurs or technology enthusiasts, we’d like to invite some techies as well to join the event and take part on the debates and discussions so as to provide technology based solutions to the problems.
Some of the issues that will be discussed are labor crisis within the country, the existing problem of polarization, lack of sufficient and relevant post disaster action, and the importance of promoting tourism. The participants would be divided into four groups where they will discuss, share their ideas and knowledge, and also come up with solutions to some of the existing problems.
Since the event is supposed to lead way to a larger platform, there’s a selection procedure involved. Not everyone would be able to join the program. If you’re interested, please submit the form here. The deadline to submit the form is tomorrow (i.e December 17). Upon selection you will be invited via email or phone. The event is open to all youths between age 18 to 24.
