Ministry of Energy Seeks to Rush the Hydroelectricity Projects

The Ministry of Energy is seeking to rush the hydroelectricity projects. It has instructed Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and other companies under NEA to speed up the projects they are undertaking.

This instruction was given by the Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi in a formal meeting with project chiefs of different projects on September 7.

In the meeting, progress reports of 11 hydropower projects under the NEA were submitted.

The 11 projects are Upper Tamakoshi, Chameliya, Kulekhani III, Raghughat,  Upper Trishuli III A, Lower Sanjel under Chilime, Upper Sanjel, Rasuwagadhi and Mid Bhotekoshi. Their progress report is given in the figure below:

Minister Shahi said, I will do all I can from my side to finish the projects on time. If the projects finish on time then we can produce electricity as per the demand.
