Infinix Note 50s 5G+ Overview
Design
The Infinix Note 50s retains some design elements from the Infinix Note 50x 5G+, especially the octagonal-shaped camera module. However, the body design has evolved; the back now curves seamlessly into the frame, making it slimmer and more refined at just 7.6mm thick.
The camera module includes an “Active Halo Lighting” just like the Note 50X. lights up during camera timers, voice assistant use, or while gaming.
The plastic frame has a two-tone finish. It looks like an aluminium frame from the sides due to the metal finish, but it looks like usual plastic from the top and bottom.
The phone is available in three colors: Titanium Grey, Ruby Red, and Marine Drift Blue. The Marine Drift Blue variant has an Aromatic leather back with the World’s first scent encapsulation technology. This should also make it the first phone you might want to smell before you buy it. What if you don’t like the aroma? The remaining two variants have a normal plastic back panel.
The IP64 rating was already present on the Note 50X 5G, but Infinix has now added Military Grade Durability as well (MIL-810H Certified). Likewise, the front glass protection is now upgraded to Gorilla Glass 5.
144Hz AMOLED Display?
Infinix addresses one of the weaknesses of the Note 50x 5G+ in the Infinix Note 50s 5G+. The HD+ screen now gets a bump up to FHD+ resolution. But it is now a 3D curved 10-bit AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate? Yes, a 10-bit 144Hz panel on a budget phone. Let that sink in!
The curved display gives it a premium look and a similar aesthetic to that of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+.
It can switch between 60, 120, and 144Hz of smoothness and comes with a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz.
It has a typical brightness of 550 nits with 1100 nits HBM and 1300 nits peak brightness. A much-needed improvement, as the Infinix Note 50x had poor brightness levels.
This curved display with 10-bit color and 144Hz refresh rate will be a first of its kind for the price tag. Also, a wake-up call for legacy brands to up their game in the budget segment.
Fiesty MediaTek Dimensity 7300
MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate powers the Infinix Note 50s 5G+. This would have made it the most powerful phone for the price, but the Infinix Note 50X 5G+ has already taken that mantle.
Popular phones like CMF Phone 1, CMF Phone 2 Pro, and Redmi Note 14 Pro boast this chipset, but all of these phones cost upwards of Rs. 30,000. Meanwhile, the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ will be priced under Rs. 30,000. That will make this phone the most powerful phone under Rs. 30,000.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate is complemented by 6/8GB gigs of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 2.2 128GB/256GB storage.
The 6GB RAM variant seems to be India-exclusive, as Infinix has not listed the 6GB variant in other regions.
Battery
The global variant of the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ boasts a 5200mAh battery, while the Indian variant has a 5500mAh battery. We’ll have to wait and see which one makes it into Nepal.
Just like the Note 50X, the charging speed remains at 45W. The wireless charging is still missing, but should you care? No.
One of the trending features of 2025, Bypass Charging, is available. This feature allows the phone to be directly powered from the charger without charging the battery. This is a great gaming feature that provides peak power without straining the battery. Likewise, it also supports reverse wireless charging (wired) of up to 10W.
Camera and the rest
When it comes to cameras, the Infinix Note 50s 5G Plus features a 64MP main sensor alongside a 2MP macro lens. The primary sensor is the Sony IMX682, a reliable but slightly older sensor previously seen on devices like the Samsung Galaxy A52s.
On the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera. What’s particularly impressive is that both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames per second—a rare feature in this price segment.
In terms of software, the device runs on XOS 15 built on top of Android 15. Infinix has promised two major Android updates and three years of security patches. The XOS 15 interface brings several AI-powered features including AIGC Portrait Mode, AI Note, AI Wallpaper Generator, and Folax, the brand’s in-house AI voice assistant.
The Infinix Note 50s 5G Plus is also equipped with an IR blaster, letting users control household appliances directly from the phone. Additionally, it comes with dual stereo speakers with JBL badging. We previously experienced this setup on the Hot 50 Pro Plus, and the audio quality was quite impressive.
