Hyosung carries a sense of nostalgia in Nepal’s two-wheeler scene, a brand many riders remember from an earlier era. In 2026, it makes its return and steps straight into the adventure motorcycle space. Leading this comeback is the ADV 250, a model that has already launched in Nepal and directly targets the rising demand for versatile bikes suited to both daily riding and light touring.

Evoque Nepal is now the official distributor of Hyosung motorcycles in Nepal, succeeding Batas Motors, which held the role since 2010. For those who remember the brand from back then, Hyosung once offered a wide range of motorcycles across sports, dirt, and commuter segments. Models like the GT650R, GT250R, RX125SM, RX125D, and RT125D helped build its presence, while the GT650N stood as the flagship at around Rs. 6.50 lakhs.
As more global brands entered Nepal, the two-wheeler market became intensely competitive. Gradually, Hyosung lost visibility and faded from the market, remaining largely dormant for more than a decade. So why the comeback now?
Hyosung originated in South Korea in 1962 under the Hyosung Group. After changes in ownership, the brand now sits with KR Motors. In 2016, KR Motors formed a joint venture with China’s Qingqi Motors under Jinan Qingqi KR Motors, shifting production to China while retaining the Hyosung name. This move combined Korean brand heritage with Chinese manufacturing scale, leading to a broader and more modern product lineup.
One of those models in their website listed as QH250-5 and is now headed to Nepal as the Hyosung ADV 250, marking the brand’s return to the Nepali motorcycle market. And, its performance in the market will determine whether other Hyosung models come to Nepal as one cruiser (Hyosung GV 250S/300S EVO) is already in the pipeline. But let’s look at the ADV 250 for now starting with the price.

Hyosung ADV 250
Exterior
The Hyosung ADV 250 can be called an entry-level adv bike with ease due to the way it looks. Interestingly, it is also being introduced as the first V-cylinder rally car in its class in China. Coming back to the way it looks, let’s start with the front.
The first thing to notice is the vertically stacked dual LED headlamps which for an adventure class bike is really significant. We are guessing that its performance is good for dark trails and night ride. Next up is the tall wind visor that sits just above the lighting unit and this one looks pretty functional contrary to the sorry excuses for wind visor you might find in other bikes. Moreover, it is adjustable as well.

And as you might expect, the handlebars are quite high and wide and also offer a standup position riding posture. The bike comes standard with a crash protection rails that encapsulates around the front as well as the side tank shrouds.
The side profile hits you with the dual tone color and stickering which is well done and the bike looks quite pretty from this angle. The engine compartment is quite a chunky unit since it is a V-twin engine. You can see the two cylinders arranged in a “V” shape. It is well guarded by the bumper or skid plate underneath and throughout.
The bike stands on a 19-inch wheel at front and 17-inch wheel at rear and the wheels come with spoke design that goes well with its adventure nature.

Concluding on the rear, the rear side also seems to feature crash protection rails and dedicated mounting area for adding panniers. Their official site mentions that the three panniers are original factory standard but its not clear whether these will come intact for Nepal.
Performance
Hyosung has always had a soft spot for V-Twin engines, and they rarely miss a chance to use one. The ADV 250 follows that tradition proudly. Powering the ADV 250 is a 248.2cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve, 60-degree V-Twin engine with fuel injection. Now, this 60-degree V-Twin layout is worth talking about.
The 60 degree measure is basically the angle between the two cylinders but talking about the actual benefit of this engine layout is that it delivers a naturally smoother power delivery compared to single-cylinder motors, offers a distinctive exhaust note, and stands out simply because it is uncommon. In fact, engines like this are a rare sight in Nepal, especially in this displacement class.
While they are not as naturally balanced as a 90-degree V-Twin and usually need a balance shaft, they are more compact in design and allow high revving along with mass centralization.

On paper, the engine puts out 25.5 PS of power at 9000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm. This pairs with a 6-speed gearbox and a wet clutch.
As for real-world performance, we will need seat time to draw proper conclusions. The bike is currently undergoing testing in Nepal, and official test ride events are expected in the coming months, so hands-on impressions will have to wait.
What we do know is that the ADV 250 carries a 13-liter fuel tank and, judging by the engine setup and 8-valve tuning, it should comfortably deliver mileage north of 30 kmpl.
Additional Details
The dimensions of the ADV 250 are 2200 mm in length, 820 mm in width, and 1430 mm in height while the wheelbase is 1530 mm.
Upside down forks at the front and Monoshock at the rear handles the suspension duties which is a pretty standard setup on adventure bikes. Much will come down to the kind of tuning done to them.
For braking, both the front and rear braking units feature discs on them along with ABS enabled on both wheels. Its not clear whether they are switchable ABS or not but considering the purpose of the ADV 250, we hope they are switchable, at least on the rear wheels.
Furthermore on the dimensions, the seat height is a manageable 820 mm while the ground clearance sits at a comfortable 210 mm.
The dry weight of the ADV 250 is mentioned to be 180 kg in its official channel but the local distributors mention the same dry weight as kerb weight which is contradictory. Dry weight is the weight of the bike without any fuel and no operating fluids (oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.) while kerb weight is the ready-to-drive weight, including all essential fluids and a full tank of fuel.
So, if that is true than the kerb weight of ADV 250 will actually sit around 200 kg making it a pretty heavy bike.

Rivals
How does the Hyosung ADV 250 compare to its most likely rival, i.e., the KTM 250 Adventure? Well to tell you directly, the KTM 250 Adventure is a natural choice here at this price point.
Since the rumored price for the Hyosung ADV 250 sits between 7.50 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs and the KTM 250 Adventure price in Nepal is 7.50 Lakhs, you can see where I am going with this. The most differentiating factor in the Hyosung ADV 250 disposal is its V-Twin engine as compared to the single cylinder engine on the KTM 250 Adventure. While the V-twin has its own advantages, the KTM 250 Adventure simply produces a whole lot more power and torque and good refinement can be expected on KTM bikes.
Moreover, the KTM 250 Adventure has a comprehensive amount of electronics to help and ease the rider including off-road ABS, ride-by-wire, QuickShifter, slipper clutch but for Hyosung 250, we are not quite sure as of yet. We will update it as we get information about it.
But looking at how things stand right now, without an aggressive pricing, Hyosung ADV 250 does not look that attractive as compared to the KTM 250 Adventure or even the upcoming Hero 210 XPulse.
What do you think about the Hyosung ADV 250? Will it be able to make its place in the two wheeler market of Nepal again? Let us know what you think in the comments.
