Girls in Technology Meetup #2

Girls in Technology (GiT) is an international volunteer organization of IT Girls/Women established in 2015 with an intention to get more girls/women involved in the Field of IT and communications. Its primary goal is to make women aware about the scope of programming technology worldwide and in Nepal.

GiT is organizing Girls in Technology Meetup #2 with the support of Namaste Kathmandu and Leapfrog Academy. This event will be more about storytelling and a bit of technical knowledge with established female IT professionals sharing their experience and insight about the IT field. The organizers wish to motivate and inspire more women to the IT field from the ones who are in the field to the ones who are interested in IT. The organizers were glad to get a very positive response for the first meetup. They expect this meetup to be a similar success or even better one as they hope to make more women aware about the potential of being involved in IT.

The event will be having speakers from various IT fields sharing their story and experience.

Speakers

1. Suraiya Pradhan, Test Analyst for SPI Nepal Pvt Ltd.

Topic: Importance of Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in the IT Industry.

2. Anjali Shakya, Senior Designer at Leapfrog Technology.

Topic: Journey of becoming a web designer.

3. Dakshina Shrestha, Associate Professor in Sagarmatha Engineering College.

Topic: Women in engineering: Let’s challenge the stereotype.

The event will also be attended by the Co-founder of GiT, Rojina Bajracharya, Python and NodeJs Programmer, currently working for Zyoba Labs Pvt Ltd.
