Nepal Government has prepared the necessary administrative structure for distributing driving licenses from all the seven states of the country. The officials of the Federal Affairs and Local Development Ministry informed that the licenses will be issued from the Traffic Office, which is under the control of the state government.
People have been suffering as driving license is provided from only limited cities in Nepal. Millions of people are interested in getting license yearly. However, only limited number of the license is issued. Due to this, the Transport Office is blamed for the long queues as soon as the application is opened and complex process of obtaining the license.
In the past years, the number of people driving without a license has increased due to the untimely license process and license distribution. The latest proposal made by the government is expected to solve some of the problems faced by the people in present.
As per the proposal, all the seven provinces will have Traffic Management Office. These offices will also have the authority to renew the license and tax payment.
A senior official from the Ministry informed that the organizational structure was a suggestion sent to Ministry of Public Administration. The state will start issuing the licenses after the proposal is approved by the Council of Ministers.
