Coolpad Cool Play 6 is the newest smartphone by Coolpad. Though this phone was released in the international market a long time ago, this phone made its way to the Nepali market a few months ago. The Coolpad Cool 1 was one of the most successful smartphones from Coolpad and Cool Play 6 seems like a perfect successor of the Cool 1.
Coolpad Cool 1 was received well in Nepal as it offered good specification and performance for the price. Similarly, Coolpad Cool Play 6 offers good hardware and performance for the price. Though it is marketed as a gaming smartphone, we believe there are other reasons as well to buy this smartphone. So, here are our top 3 reasons to buy Coolpad Cool Play 6 in 2018.
Top 3 Reasons To Buy Coolpad Cool Play 6
#1. Gaming (Hardware)
Let’s point out the most obvious reason to get this phone: Gaming. The spec sheet on simply looks amazing. Cool Play 6 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC which is supported by octa-core processor. Adreno 510 GPU with the onboard impressive 6GB of RAM will help with the gaming experience.
You get 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution for the truly immersive experience. You get 64GB of massive storage to store your favorite games. Unfortunately, you won’t get any microSD slot to expand your storage. Practically, 64GB will be more than enough to store games at your heart’s content.
On paper, Cool Play 6 must be a game changer, offering hardware at an affordable price. Plus, there’s no other smartphone in the market right now that can offer something like this. For the time I’ve spend playing on this, I must say the gameplay is responsive and lag free. And if you are looking to buy a smartphone built specially for gaming, then look no further. Cool Play 6 might be the one you’re looking for.
#2. Battery
Cool Play 6 is powered by non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery. Coolpad claims that you can get up to 300hours of standby time. I was very pessimistic about their claim. After testing it out, I will believe them. It has one of the most amazing battery life in a smartphone!
Well, my normal use often includes internet browsing and media playback. So, at normal usage, the battery lasted me an entire day without even breaking a sweat. A single charge would last me two days (even three days at most) which is rare these days. When you bring gaming into the mix, it would easily last me the entire day. Even if you eat through the entire charge in a single gaming session thanks to USB Type-C, charging time is significantly faster. Subsequently, it is safe to say that battery will be least of your worries.
#3. Camera
Cool Play 6 sports a rear dual camera; both of which comes with 13-megapixel sensors with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is 8-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture. Before we begin, you must remember that the phone is marketed as a gaming smartphone. Okay, you get a decent camera. The overall picture and video quality are good. As for the video, you get 4K recording capability. It gives you some cool features and settings to play along. SLR, GIF, Beauty are among the few modes in the camera. It has a good dynamic range and it gives a more realistic color. I also found the quality of the camera to be subjective. Some liked it some didn’t. Personally, I loved it. For this, I believe the camera is also one the reasons to buy this in 2018.
We’ll have a new video fully detailing the features and the overall value of Cool Play 6 camera. So, stay tuned for that! To further prove my point, here are few photo sample from Coolpad Cool Play 6.
