boAt Airdopes Alpha with IPX5 Rating Launched in Nepal

boAt launched another affordable member of its Airdopes series, the Airdopes Alpha, in Nepal. This was launched alongside the Airdopes 170, in the same price.

This product has up to 35 hours of playtime and a rating of IPX5 sweat and water resistance. Let us dive into the detailed specs and features of the earbuds.

Design

The boAt Airdopes Alpha has a rounded cuboid-shaped charging case with a matte finish. On the center of the case, you will see a boAt branding with a circle-shaped LED charging indicator directly above it. Similarly, the USB Type-C port is placed at the bottom of the case.

The earbuds have a semi-in-ear design which means the silicone ear-tips are not present. This design may give a looser fit and allow the ambient sounds to penetrate more easily.

Each earphone stem has a touch sensor that allows an array of functionalities such as music control, volume control, and easy call pickup or hangup. Finally, the buds are also rated IPX5 for protection against light water and sweat but not against dust.

Features

The boAt Airdopes Alpha has a 13mm audio driver. A dual-mic ENC provides a dedicated mic for talking and capturing environmental noise. boAt calls this the ENx™ Technology, which helps to make calls clearer but the lack of active noise cancellation means that the noise will not be reduced for the user of the earbuds.

Furthermore, the BEAST Mode provided by boAts is claimed to reduce the latency down to 50ms. A lower latency improves the gaming experience for the users.

Battery and Connectivity

The battery backup is an important factor in TWS earbuds these days. The Alpha is stated to provide a total of 35 hours of playback with a 35mAh battery in each earbud and a 300mAh battery in the earbud case.

For connection, the latest Bluetooth version 5.3 is supported on the Airdopes Alpha with easy-to-connect “Insta Wake N’ Pair Technology”. This simply allows the earphones to instantly power on and connect with the last paired device when you open the case.
