Benco V91 Plus with a 50MP Camera Launching Soon in Nepal

The Benco V91 Plus, a more premium variant of the Benco V91, is launching soon in Nepal.

The Benco V91 Plus is an entry-level phone that closely resembles an iPhone in terms of design. Although it’s marketed as a more premium version of the Benco V91, it’s pretty much on par with the base model in terms of features. So, while it might look a bit fancier, it doesn’t offer much that’s new or upgraded.

Quickly, specs-wise, it’s got a UNISOC T606 processor, an IPS LCD display, a 50MP camera, and a hefty 5000mAh battery.

Benco V91 Plus Overview

Design

Looking at the Benco V91 Plus, it looks like an iPhone, which seems to be the trend for budget phones these days. It doesn’t really offer anything new in terms of design. The phone has a predominantly plastic build, with the back panel and the side rails, all made out of plastic.

On the rear, the cameras are placed in their own individual housing and are surrounded by a plain-looking dark border. You can find the power/fingerprint and the volume buttons to the right, the USB C port on the bottom, and a 3.5mmm jack on the top.

Display

Benco has paired the Benco V91 Plus with a hole punch display. The panel is a 6.56-inch, IPS LCD unit that has a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels.

Benco claims that the panel reaches a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness of 500nits. The display also has a ‘Smart Window’ feature where notifications are shown near the selfie camera much like the recent iPhone’s dynamic island.

Hardware

The phone is pretty basic feature-wise and has an octa-core UNISOC T606 processor. The processor is pretty old and is manufactured using a 12nm fabrication process.

In terms of cores, the chip has 2x Cortex-A75 and 6x Cortex-A55, both running at 1.6GHz. Handling the graphics is a Mali G57 MP1 coprocessor.

You can get the phone with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The phone also supports a microSD card up to 2TB.

Camera

When it comes to cameras, the Benco V91 Plus packs a 50MP main camera, that’s accompanied by a gimmicky ‘AI camera’ on the rear. Here you can also find a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots.

On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera sitting inside the hole punch cutout. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of shooting videos.

Battery and OS

In terms of battery, the V91 Plus comes with a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po cell. The battery charges through a USB-C cable at a maximum rate of 18W.

Out-of-the-box, the Benco V91 Plus comes preloaded with Android 13 which has Benco’s custom skin applied on top. The company has not mentioned for how long the phone will receive software support.

Benco V91 Plus Price in Nepal and Availability

The Benco V91 Plus price in Nepal is yet to be revealed. Once available, it will be sold through online e-commerce sites as well as physical retailers. However, looking at the phone’s specs, we can guess that the phone will retail in the budget segment at around Rs. 16,000.

The Benco V91 Plus serves as an upgrade to the Benco V91. This budget smartphone is equipped with a UNISOC T606 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. For the camera, the phone rocks a 50MP shooter that’s accompanied by an 8MP selfie camera.
