Ather Rizta is all set to make its highly anticipated entry in Nepal, with the launch scheduled to take place at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo this August 2025.
Vaidya Energy, the authorized distributor of Ather scooters in Nepal, is finally preparing to launch the Ather Rizta, positioning it as a family-oriented electric scooter for the Nepali market.
The Ather Rizta quickly became one of Ather’s most successful electric scooters in India, crossing the 1 lakh sales milestone within just a year of its launch. Notably, it now accounts for nearly 60% of the company’s total sales, underscoring its widespread popularity and significant market impact.
Unlike the popular Ather 450 series, known for its sharp lines and sporty design, the Rizta takes a different approach. It features a more practical and comfort-focused design, tailored for everyday commuting.
That said, the Rizta doesn’t compromise on technology or performance. Much like the 450 series, it comes loaded with smart features and delivers a capable ride experience.

Ather Rizta Overview
Design
The Ather Rizta design diverges from the 450 series for which Ather is primarily known. Instead of going for a sporty look, it keeps things simple and laid-back. To put it bluntly, Rizta is kind of round as compared to the 450S and 450X.
At the front, the scooter sports a sleek horizontal LED headlamp with integrated DRLs and turn indicators, all smoothly blended into the bodywork for a clean, modern look.
The streamlined front fender gives the scooter a clean and uncluttered appearance, and the fairly big and well-positioned side mirrors should offer good visibility of the rear.
From the side, the Ather Rizta looks balanced and comfy, perfect for families. The front and back have smooth, rounded shapes, but the side adds sharper lines that give it a bit of a sporty edge. It’s obvious Ather designed this scooter to be both practical and family-friendly.
The scooter is available in two trim levels, each offering distinct displays. The higher-end Z variant packs a bright 7-inch color screen that you can control using a 4-way joystick. It runs on a Snapdragon 212 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. You get cool features like Google Maps, Ping My Scooter, live location sharing, and even document storage, making it one of the smartest dashboards out there.
In contrast, the base S variant comes with a minimalist DeepView LCD display, similar to what’s found on the Ather 450S. It features IP65-rated protection and is powered by a Cortex-series processor, along with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. Though it lacks the full suite of connectivity features available on the Z variant, it still supports key functionalities such as Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Theft Notifications, and Find My Scooter.
What’s cool is that Ather really focused on making the Rizta comfy and practical. The wide, flat footboard and long, cushy seat (900mm!) give plenty of room for both the rider and the pillion. Plus, with a low seat height of just 780mm, it’s super easy to hop on — no matter your height.
The rear of the Ather Rizta follows a minimalist design, combining function with a clean, modern look. A solid grab rail adds to passenger safety, while the sleek LED tail light strip echoes the front’s horizontal DRL styling. Integrated turn indicators sit neatly within the slim light bar, contributing to the scooter’s cohesive and futuristic profile.
Ather gives you seven color options with the Rizta. Both the S and Z variants are available in Pangong Blue, Siachen White, and Deccan Grey. Additionally, the Z variant features eye-catching dual-tone finishes in Deccan Grey, Alphonso Yellow, Cardamom Green, and Pangong Blue, further elevating its sporty character.

Performance
The Ather Rizta is powered by a 4.3 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, capable of delivering 5.8 PS of peak power and 22 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 80 kmph. While all Rizta variants share the same motor, Ather offers two battery options across both the Rizta S and Rizta Z trims—2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh.
The 2.9 kWh battery offers a certified IDC range of 123 km and takes approximately 8 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%. The 3.7 kWh battery provides a longer IDC range of 159 km, with the charging time of 5 hours 45 minutes for 0 to 80%.
Both battery options work with Ather’s Portable Charger and the Fast Charging Grid, so charging is pretty convenient no matter where you are. That said, the 2.9 kWh battery charges a bit slower since it has a less powerful AC charger, which is why the top-end 3.7 kWh version juices up faster.
Furthermore, all the variants of Rizta come with dual riding modes: SmartEco and Zip Mode. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 4.7 seconds, making it one of the quickest in its segment.
Ather offers a Pro Pack that unlocks extra features like Ride Assist, Ather Connect, OTA updates through Atherstack, and the Eight70 Battery Warranty. You also get cool add-ons like Magic Twist, Skid Control, AutoHold, Auto Indicator Cut-Off, Guide-Me-Home Lights, FallSafe, and Emergency Stop Signal — making your ride smarter and safer.
Just like the Ather 450X, Ather Nepal will likely include the Pro Pack as standard for the Rizta when it launches in the Nepali market.
Additional Details
The Ather Rizta features a Telescopic Fork at the front and a Monoshock at the rear to handle suspension duties, ensuring a comfortable and stable ride.
In terms of dimensions, the Rizta measures 1850 mm in length, 750 mm in width, and 1140 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1285 mm. It offers a practical ground clearance of 150 mm and a kerb weight of 125 kg, making it agile yet stable for city rides.
One of its standout features is the class-leading 34-liter under-seat storage, providing ample space for helmets, bags, and daily essentials.

Ather Rizta Price in Nepal and Availability
The Ather Rizta price in Nepal has not been officially revealed yet. However, Ather Nepal has confirmed that the much-anticipated Rizta will make its debut at the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo in August 2025.
Although specific variant details are yet to be confirmed, it’s highly likely that Ather Nepal will introduce either the Rizta S (2.9kWh), the Rizta Z (3.7kWh), or possibly only the top-end variant, following a strategy similar to the 450X launch in Nepal.
If this trend continues, the pricing is expected to fall below or between the Ather 450S and Ather 450X, offering a competitive alternative in the electric scooter segment.
If the 450 series is anything to go by, the Ather Rizta could hit the Nepali market with a price tag starting around Rs. 3.10 Lakhs and climbing up to Rs. 4 Lakhs, a reasonable expectation based on regional pricing trends.
That said, this remains speculative for now. We expect to have more clarity during the official launch or when bookings begin. This article will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.

Rivals
To address the competition, the Ather Rizta will compete with the Segway E125.
The competition between the Rizta and the E125 is primarily based on their similar price ranges.
The Segway E125 is priced at Rs. 3.91 Lakhs in Nepal, and although the price of the Rizta in Nepal is yet to be disclosed, the top variant, Rizta Z with a 3.7 kWh battery, will most likely be in that range.
In terms of performance, the Rizta surpasses the E125 in both motor and battery capacity.
The Rizta boasts a 4.3 kW motor paired with a 3.7 kWh battery, which is significantly higher than the E125’s 2.4 kW motor and 1.9 kWh battery.
Moreover, the Rizta offers a range of features, including unique ones such as Magic Twist and Skid Control, along with a massive 34-liter under-seat storage capacity.
In this price range, the Ather Rizta appears to be a better option. However, it remains to be seen how the Nepali electric vehicle market will respond to the Rizta, as it is a family-focused electric scooter, a new product for this market.
