Laxmi Group has secured the official distribution rights for Arcfox in Nepal. This is the same group that currently handles Hyundai, but their bigger play involves their partnership with BAIC. They have already taken charge of BAIC’s distribution in Nepal and are preparing to introduce models like the BAIC BJ30, a proper off-road-focused hybrid.

Since Arcfox sits under the BAIC umbrella, its entry feels like a natural extension of that partnership. It also shows that Laxmi Group is clearly aiming to make a strong push into Nepal’s most competitive space, the compact EV segment.

Arcfox itself operates as a premium new energy brand under BAIC Group through its EV-focused arm, BAIC BluePark. What is surprising is how quickly the brand has scaled. Despite being established only in 2018, Arcfox managed to sell over 160,000 vehicles in 2025.

Pricing will ultimately play a decisive role for the T1. The expected range feels reasonable but the final figure will determine how well it stands against the growing list of compact electric SUVs in Nepal, since this segment is already packed with options that offer strong value for money.

Let’s have a quick look at the key specifications of Arcfox T1 for 2026 in Nepal.

Arcfox T1 Overview

Exterior

The Arcfox T1 follows the brand’s ARC-FLOW design philosophy, blending visual appeal with aerodynamic efficiency in a way that suits its compact SUV character. The proportions play a big role here and tends to a “golden ratio” territory, with a 0.64 wheelbase-to-length ratio, 2.27 wheel-to-height, and 0.85 height-to-width. That is what gives it that easy-on-the-eyes presence.

Up front, the T1 carries a typical EV identity with its closed grille layout. A full-width LED light bar sits neatly above it and works as the DRLs, stretching cleanly across the face. At the edges, the setup integrates with the main LED headlamps and vertical light elements, which help visually widen the front stance.

The slightly sloping bonnet, neatly finished air intake accents, and an overall smooth surface free from unnecessary cuts all contribute to a very low drag coefficient of 0.1925. That figure is exceptionally impressive and adheres to its design philosophy.

At the side too the T1 continues with the same low-drag approach. The surface remains non-protruding and uninterrupted, with the side mirrors being the only elements that slightly break the airflow. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and offers a ground clearance of 181 mm. Since this is more of an urban-focused EV, the suspension leans toward comfort. So under load, the clearance will drop slightly, but it should still remain enough for everyday roads.

The T1 has a wheelbase of 2750 mm which is quite an elongated span for a vehicle of this class. For reference, BYD Atto 3 has a wheelbase of 2720 mm, Proton e.Mas 7 has 2750 mm of wheelbase, and Hyundai Creta Electric has just 2610 mm of wheelbase. Longer wheelbase is beneficial

At the rear, the design keeps things composed with a slightly rectangular theme. The rear glass is fairly large but it misses out on a rear wiper. The taillights feature sharp lighting elements and sit connected through a blacked-out strip, even though it is not a full-width light bar like the front.

And that actually works in its favor, as using a full-width bar at both ends could have felt a bit excessive. Furthermore, the tailgate follows the squared-off design language and comes with an electrically operated function on the top variant.

Arcfox offers the T1 in six exterior shades, including Blue, Green, White, Grey, Purple, and Silver. It remains to be seen which of these options will make it to the Nepali market.

Interior

The interior feels thoughtfully put together, with a clear focus on soft-touch materials across key contact points and delivers a sense of refinement that helps justify the overall fit and finish. Also, it is exceptionally spacious thanks to the amazing 2770 mm wheelbase that this car has which directly translates to the cabin space, and boot space as well.

The seats use PVC upholstery, so the focus leans more toward durability than plushness. Even so, they remain comfortable thanks to generous padding and good overall support. The driver gets a 6-way power-adjustable seat, while the front passenger seat offers 4-way adjustability. In the lower Pro variant, only the driver seat gets the electric adjustment, while the front passenger seat remains manually adjustable. Moreover, the top-spec Max variant adds seat heating, ventilation, and a memory function for the front seats.

A large 15.6-inch infotainment screen dominates the dashboard and supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The layout below it stays familiar with AC vents neatly integrated and a floating center console placed just underneath. This console includes a wireless charging pad that can hold two phones, although only one supports wireless charging.

The cabin follows a minimalistic approach, which means it skips most physical buttons to maintain a clean and modern look. Not everyone prefers this setup, especially when it comes to quick access controls, but sadly it is the current design trend in many modern cars. That said, the steering wheel still carries a few physical buttons for quick functions like sound control and call management.

Other amenities include a sunroof in the Max variant, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system that drops to 4 speakers in the Pro variant, voice control, a 66W fast charging port for phones, and a 27W charging port for rear passengers.

The interior is available in three color themes: Soft White, Sandy Brown, and Dark Grey.

Performance

Arcfox T1 is equipped with a modest 70 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that generates a max power of 95.2 PS and a max torque of 176 Nm. It is not winning any speed races with these numbers but remember it is a compact SUV designed for the urban use case.

The powertrain is supported by a 42.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and claims 400 km on the CLTC cycle. But we know why not to believe in the CLTC-based claims. If you don’t, do check our article on EV range tests and their implications on real world. To tell you in short, the CLTC cycle is heavily biased toward low energy consumption scenarios and frequent regeneration chances like in a stop-and-go traffic. It is a defendable thing for the T1 which is designed handle urban situations but we hope that the company release WLTP figures for better estimation of range.

Looking from another angle, the T1 is said to feature an 8-in-1 drivetrain setup and an efficient battery thermal management system, which can theoretically support the driving range of T1 and push the numbers somewhat close to the CLTC claim.

Moving on, the battery pack can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 8 hours with a 7 kW AC Charger and it also support DC fast charging. Based on the 25 minutes charging time published on the brochure, it can be implied that the T1 supports around 60 kW of max DC charging that catapults the 30% SOC to 80% in the published time.

The performance numbers are not very exciting as evident by the motor capacity but on another note, T1 has a total of 7 different driving modes: Comfort, Eco, Sport, Custom, Ultra Eco, Wet / Adaptive. A careful adaptation of these modes can get you the required performance or a high driving range if you can use it well.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut and Torsion beam handles the suspension duties. And just for information, whenever you see the rear suspension as Torsion Beam, understand that it is a budget EV.

The dimensions are 4337 mm in length, 1860 in width, and 1572 mm in height, and 2770 mm in wheelbase.

Ground clearance of Arcfox T1 is 181 mm. And, the kerb weight is 1417.5 kg on an average.

There is a 459 liters of boot space available in this car which can be further expanded to 1352 liters

Talking about the price, Arcfox T1 price in Nepal is expected to be between Rs. 45,00,000 to Rs. 50,00,000. This is our estimation but one thing is for sure: Price has be competitive if Arcfox wants to claim a share of this segment as their are a lot of options.

The launch timeline is somewhat gibberish right now so exact launch date is not committed by the distributors. But they indicated that it will be launched in few months, optimistically 2 and pessimistically 3.

Stay tuned for further updates on the exact variant to be launched in Nepal along with other key details.

Rivals

Originally, the Arcfox T1 is positioned to rival the BYD Dolphin, and that same rivalry could play out in Nepal as well. Both sit in the compact EV space, but while the T1 leans into an SUV form, the Dolphin sticks to a more hatchback design.

On the performance front, both cars rely on a 70 kW motor and deliver similar power and torque figures. So in real-world driving, you can expect the T1 to feel quite close to the Dolphin. However, the T1 starts to pull ahead when you look at its proportions. It is simply a bigger car in every sense. It even rides on larger 18-inch wheels compared to the Dolphin’s 16-inch setup and offers a more generous cabin space overall.

That said, the Dolphin’s cabin is far from cramped. In fact, it stands out as one of its strongest selling points among families, in particular. But the T1 counters that with sheer size and presence, which naturally translates to more breathing room inside. It also edges ahead in ground clearance, offering 181 mm compared to the Dolphin’s 175 mm. The Dolphin has improved this area with its 2025 update by stiffening the suspension and better managing loaded conditions, but based on numbers, the T1 still holds a slight advantage.

Range is another area where comparisons get tricky. The Dolphin’s 340 km figure comes from the WLTP cycle, while the T1’s claimed 400 km uses the CLTC standard. Since WLTP tends to reflect more realistic conditions, it makes sense to treat both figures with context. In practical terms, both should deliver a similar usable range depending on driving style, load, and conditions.

What works strongly in the Dolphin’s favor is its proven track record. It has already found more than 3000 homes in Nepal and continues to rank among the top choices for family-oriented EV buyers. Buyers also recognize BYD for its reliability, especially with its Blade Battery technology, and for its strong global and local presence.

Pricing will ultimately shape this rivalry, but the T1’s official price in Nepal is still under wraps. That uncertainty leaves a big question mark over its positioning. Beyond the Dolphin, the T1 will also face competition from models like the BYD Atto 2, Dongfeng Nammi Vigo, and Tata Punch EV. This is already a crowded and competitive segment.

Even so, the T1 brings a fresh design, a balanced powertrain, and a practical cabin into the mix. If it manages to strike the right balance on pricing and after-sales support, it could carve out its own space in Nepal’s growing EV market.
