Aprilia Storm 125cc Officially Launched in Nepal: What's New & Interesting?

Well, this is an interesting turn of events. Aprilia launched the all-new Aprilia Storm 125, on the month of April (no-pun intended), in India. Naturally, it would have taken at least six months or a year before its launch in Nepal. However, things have changed for the better. Just a few days after its launch in India, Aprilia Storm 125 has launched in Nepal.

The scooter was officially unveiled at the launch event held on Thursday in Lambin Mall! Many complimented the new looks, especially the new color scheme. Furthermore, the event highlighted all the new features, citing improvements for the predecessor. As for the pricing, the Aprilia Storm 125 price in Nepal is Rs. 2,24,900. As far as the pricing goes, it is pretty decent for a 125cc performance-based scooter.

Aprilia Storm 125: Overview

If you are worried if this new update will change the Aprilia experience, don’t. You will see major visual changes with new colors, wider tires, and CBS braking. Except for those things, the rest is pretty much the same.

Everything else like the design, the engine, and the performance remain the same. Aprilia SR 125 is powered by 125cc single cylinder four stroke two valve air cooled engine which can produce a maximum power of 9.46 BHP at 8500 rpm and 9.9 Nm at 6250rpm. It uses CVT transmission for more useable power, better fuel economy and smoother driving experience.

Aprilia Storm 125: New Changes

If you were holding out on the Aprilia SR 125 just because you didn’t like the color, here’s a piece of good news! You will get two different color variations in Aprilia Storm 125. In Storm, you get to choose from matte Red & Black color and matte Yellow & Black color. Moreover, you will also get a slightly different design. Apart from the colors, again, the overall styling remains the same. Although, I do prefer this color combination over the predecessor. Personally, I just love the Red & Black finish over the other one.

Talking about the next new change, the wider tires! As you might know, Aprilia SR 125 had some amazing tires. You could simply guide through the corner and the grip was unquestionably awesome! Technically, you still get the same tires, but with some slight changes.

Aprilia Storm 125 comes with new chunkier tires. If chunkier tires, it is mostly focused on performance and stability at higher speeds. For the off-roading enthusiasts, these tires are specially designed to do just that. However, there’s a catch. You will get a slightly smaller tire in comparison. Previously, Aprilia SR 125 came with 14-inch thinner tires. But Aprilia Storm comes with 12-inch wider tires.

Moving on to the next new change, if you didn’t know, the Government of India has made it mandatory to include certain “safety-net” on the bike and scooter over 125cc. Basically, you either get Combi Braking System (CBS) or Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS). All in all, you get a drastically improved braking performance in the real world.

Should You Buy Aprilia Storm 125 in Nepal?

Yes! Before the storm, Aprilia scooter was already popular among the performance enthusiasts in Nepal. While some did complain about the plain design, everything else was spot on. So, Aprilia addressed the plain design with a new design! With the inclusion of the smaller but wider tires and CBS braking, this Aprilia scooter is ready for almost everything.

You could literally go off-roading in the Aprilia Storm 125. Imagine talking your scooter to the rough and hard terrain. A few years ago, you’d say that it was impossible. But now, Aprilia Storm 125 makes that dream a reality.

So, should you buy one? Of course! If you like a performance-based scooter with killer style, awesome colors, and essential features, then Aprilia Storm 125 might be your next scooter.

However, I still suspect TVS NTorq to give a tough competition since it has much to offer (like Advance Instrument Cluster) in comparison.
