Aviyantaa x USC 2023, an annual event organized by the Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES), the student wing of Mechanical Engineering students at Kathmandu University (KU), is scheduled to start on October 4.
The two-day event is anticipated to have 3500+ participants, including 60+ stalls from various institutions, students, and sponsors.
Pre-events
The pre-events, comprising training sessions, workshops, and sports competitions, for this program have already kicked off on September 11. The pre-events include a marathon, futsal competition, pottery workshop, junk art, basic tool-handling workshop, mechathon, go-kart, and many more.
One of the highlights of this pre-event is the “Aid to Education” initiative, which is happening in active collaboration with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).
Inspired by KMC’s “Books Free Friday”, this pre-event will have a total of three sessions on basic electrical and space engineering and will be hosted on September 29. The one-day program will include two sessions for 80 students chosen from 80 community schools and one session for 40 resource persons from 40 resource centers.

Main Event
The main event will be hosted for two days, on October 4 and 5, welcoming 3500+ participants from various schools, universities, and institutions.
The event will comprise 60+ stalls showcasing semester projects and innovations, including exhibits from renowned companies, sponsors, career fairs, games, food stalls, and an acoustic musical evening. The main event will also include a conference, speeches from distinguished keynote speakers, and VIP networking sessions.
Background
The Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) hosts Aviyantaa and USC every year.
Aviyantaa is an annual yearbook and mechanical engineering festival (mechanical fair), while USC (University Scholar Conference) is a premier academic event aimed at fostering a culture of research and innovation among undergraduate students in Nepal.
The objective of Aviyantaa is to provide a platform for students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kathmandu University to showcase the credit projects of its undergraduate students, providing a means for sharing recent findings and developments with a wider audience.
Meanwhile, USC aims to encourage collaborative knowledge exchange among students, scholars, and experts by sharing research insights and facilitating professional growth through workshops and panels. Furthermore, USC seeks to recognize and amplify valuable research by offering selected participants the opportunity to publish in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
