The Redmi Buds 4 is a true wireless earbud model from Xiaomi. It is the successor to the Redmi Buds 3, which was not released in Nepal. Out of the Redmi Buds 3 series, only the Redmi Buds 3 Lite made its way to Nepal last year.

This year, Xiaomi has introduced two earbuds from the Buds 4 series, namely the Redmi Buds 4 Lite and the Redmi Buds 4, in the country. However, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro is not available in Nepal.

Redmi Buds 4 Overview

Design

The Redmi Buds 4 comes in a rounded, pocket-friendly case. The front of the case has an LED indicator, while the back features a pairing/reset button. Additionally, the bottom includes a USB-C port for charging.

The case with the earbuds weighs approximately 55g, while each earbud alone weighs about 4.5g. The earbuds are equipped with silicone ear tips, a proximity sensor, and two microphones.

Furthermore, the earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance. They also have a touch-sensitive panel that allows users to answer incoming calls, reject calls, control music playback, and activate/deactivate noise cancellation.

Features

The earbuds feature a 10mm dynamic driver, tuned by Xiaomi Acoustic Lab. Xiaomi claims that the Redmi Buds 4’s hybrid active noise cancellation technology, combined with the feed-forward and feedback microphones, is capable of canceling noise up to 35dB.

The Buds 4 offers three ANC level options under an adaptive ANC mode. The three options available are light mode, deep mode, and balanced mode.

Additionally, users can activate the transparency mode by long-pressing the earbuds, allowing them to hear their surroundings. Similarly, to activate the noise cancellation mode, users can once again long-press the earbuds.

Moreover, the Redmi Buds 4 supports in-ear detection.

Battery and Connectivity

Each earbud is equipped with a 40mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, the battery can last up to 6 hours on a single charge when the noise cancellation feature is turned off. When paired with the charging case, the battery life can be extended to 30 hours with noise cancellation off.

The charging case can be charged via a USB-C port. Xiaomi claims that it supports fast charging, enabling users to enjoy up to an hour of music playback with just 5 minutes of charging.

The Redmi Buds 4 comes with Bluetooth 5.2 support for seamless connectivity. Android users have the option to download the Xiaomi Earbuds app from the Google Play store, which allows them to customize noise cancellation settings and touch controls for the Redmi Buds 4. However, the app is not available for iOS devices.

Furthermore, the latest Xiaomi and Redmi devices support the MIUI Pop-up for Quick Pairing feature. This feature enables users to easily pair their earbuds by simply opening the charging case near their smartphone and tapping on the screen once the pop-up window appears.
