Xiaomi AirDots Finally See Nepal’s Daylight: Priced at Rs. 4,799 and 6 Months Warranty

Headphone jacks are going extinct with the arrival of new flagship smartphones every day. With mid-rangers joining in on the action, the presence of headphone jacks is slowly fading away. Well, we can mourn for the headphone jack but it certainly doesn’t seem like they’ll be back. So, what to do now? At this point, the obvious answer is turning to wireless earbuds.

Now, we do know that not everybody can afford the Apple AirPods Pro. So, for those people, there’s good news. Xiaomi has finally brought their Mi AirDots to Nepal for a price of Rs 4,799.

As of now, these AirDots are available for purchase throughout Nepal from official channels. Don’t get confused, these aren’t the Redmi AirDots. There’s difference in between the two which I’ll guess will be obvious once we get down to the overview.

Xiaomi Mi AirDots Overview

Basically, the Mi AirDots are in a way, a shy alternative of AirPods Pro/Galaxy Buds. Layout wise, they’re made out of plastic with matte like finish at the top. The silicone tip of the AirDots snuck into the ears quite easily and makes perfect fit. With IPX4 rating, the earbuds are resistant to sweat and light splashes of water. The carrying case is also quite compact and are easy to carry around.The AirDots come with a touch sensitive rear which responds at the slightest feel of touch. There are no haptic feedbacks so accidental changes can be quite annoying at times. The touchpad is multi-functional but the sensitive rear disrupts all the fun.

Talking about audio in general, the AirDots seem to distribute audio evenly. The vocals are clear and crisp and the audio tends to get pretty loud in quiet places. One of the main reasons for this could be the presence of Noise cancellation feature on the AirDots. These AirDots aren’t specifically tilted towards the bass section. So, they provide a rather average experience in terms of bass.

Xiaomi claims the AirDots to have a music playback time of 4 hours and a standby time of 12 hours inside the case. The AirDots take around 1.5 hours to charge completely while the case itself takes around 3 hours to juice up completely. There’s a microUSB cable for charging the case.

One last thing to note is that it does come with a Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The AirDots pair immediately once taken out of the case which is quite convenient. The one thing that I didn’t like about the connectivity was that when you take out one of the AirDots, they stop playing altogether. And you need to press play every time you lodge it back to your ears.

Mi AirDots Price in Nepal and Impression

Honestly, these wireless AirDots are quite great. For the price point of Rs 4,799 it is definitely something worth looking into. Moreover, you will also get a 6-month warranty on it.

The Redmi AirDots are far better than the Mi AirDots but considering the price, I wouldn’t mind taking the Mi AirDots. These aren’t perfect but they will fulfill your desire of experiencing truly wireless audio.
