After launching iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X in September 2017, Apple is back with the Red versions of its phones in Nepal. Nothing else is upgraded here. But it looks really vibrant and is sure to catch anyone’s eyes when you are using your phone.
The new iPhone Red starts from Rs. 98,500 and is available through EvoStore in Nepal. It comes in 64GB and 256GB variants.
The iPhone 8 Product RED costs Rs. 98,500 for the 64 GB variant and Rs. 1,19,000 for the 256 GB variant. Similarly, the iPhone 8 Plus Product RED costs Rs. 1,12,500 for the 64 GB variant and Rs. 1,33,000 for the 256 GB variant.
There is no price difference between the RED iPhones and the other “ordinary” iPhones. So, it is all on you to choose the color you like.
However, the launch of the new color is not just another attention-grabbing strategy from Apple because Product Red, stylized as RED™, is a licensed brand owned by RED that seeks to engage the private sector in raising awareness and funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries.
“This special edition (PRODUCT) RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Vice President of Product Marketing said in a statement during the global launch of the Product RED edition of iPhones.
“For 11 years, our partnership with (RED) has supported HIV/AIDS programs that provide counseling, testing, and medicine that prevents the transmission of HIV from a mother to her unborn child. So far, we’ve raised over $160 million through the sale of our (RED) products. Every purchase brings us a step closer to an AIDS‑free generation.” reads the product page of iPhone RED from Apple.
