Honor Earbuds A Pro Brings 49dB ANC at Rs. 4,499

Honor has already made its mark in Nepal’s budget TWS market with various earbuds such as Choice X7 Lite and X5e. Now, the brand is expanding its lineup with the launch of the new Honor Earbuds A Pro in Nepal.

The new earbuds bring features like up to 49dB ANC, a 12.4mm dynamic driver, and up to 42 hours of battery life. But are these enough stand out in Nepal’s increasingly competitive budget TWS segment? Let’s take a closer look at HONOR Earbuds A Pro.

On paper, the Honor Earbuds A Pro offers a solid feature set for its price. However, with strong competition from brands like Anker, Redmi, CMF, and realme, the bigger question is whether it can stand out in this highly competitive segment.

Honor Earbuds A Pro Overview

The charging case immediately reminded me of the CMF Buds Pro, thanks to its circular, macaron-like design. It also comes in bold color options like Purple, Green, and White, giving it a fun and distinctive look.

The earbuds themselves are fairly standard, featuring a stem-style design with an in-ear fit. They are IP54-rated for dust and water resistance, although this protection only applies to the earbuds and not the charging case. That means they should have no trouble handling sweat during workouts or light rain.

For audio, the Earbuds A Pro is equipped with 12.4mm dynamic drivers. Honor also mentions “Golden Ear’s Choice” tuning, implying that experienced listeners have tuned the earbuds. However, there’s no official certification.

For noise cancellation, the Earbuds A Pro offers up to 49dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce ambient noise while listening. It also features AI Noise Cancellation for calls, which helps suppress background noise and improves voice clarity.

For those who like tweaking their audio, Honor includes four EQ presets to choose from. However, there’s no option to create a custom EQ profile, which is a bit disappointing.

The earbuds connect over Bluetooth 5.3 and support instant pop-up pairing with compatible Honor devices. Furthermore, it also has the Find My Earbuds feature, making it easier to locate the earbuds if you happen to misplace them.

The earbuds pack a 45mAh battery each, while the charging case houses a 500mAh battery.

Battery life is fairly average for the segment. Honor claims up to 42 hours of total playback with the case and up to 9 hours on a single charge. These figures are based on testing at 50% volume with ANC turned off, so you can expect shorter battery life with ANC enabled.

If you’re running low on battery, a 10-minute quick charge is claimed to provide up to three hours of music playback.

At Rs. 4,499, the HONOR Earbuds A Pro ticks most of the right boxes with 49dB ANC, 12.4mm drivers, and a lightweight design. However, it lacks a few features that competing earbuds now offer at similar prices, such as custom EQ, dual-device connectivity, and longer battery life.

Unless you specifically prefer HONOR’s ecosystem or design, alternatives like the realme Buds T200 and Anker Soundcore R50i NC provide stronger overall value.
