The Redmi Watch series has been around for years, dating all the way back to the Redmi Watch 2. But in Nepal, we’ve mostly been getting the watered-down versions, the Lite and Active models. In fact, the last proper Redmi Watch to officially launch here was the Redmi Watch 2 nearly five years ago. Thankfully, Xiaomi Nepal has finally brought the Redmi Watch 6.

The Watch 6 succeeds the Redmi Watch 5, which never made it to Nepal. So technically, this is the first mainline Redmi Watch we’ve gotten since the Watch 2. Naturally, expectations are pretty high.
What is the Price of Redmi Watch 6 in Nepal?
The Redmi Watch 6 price in Nepal is set at Rs. 20,499. That’s honestly a surprising figure considering “Redmi” used to mean affordable gadgets. But in 2026, with the prices of pretty much every electronic device going up, Rs. 20,000 has somehow become the new budget. Strange times.
The smartwatch has been available globally since late 2025 but only made its way to Nepal in mid-2026. If you’re planning to pick one up, it’s now available through Xiaomi-authorized stores across the country.
Looking at the past few years, Redmi’s Lite and Active watches typically hovered around the Rs. 10,000 mark. This is the first time we’ve seen a Redmi smartwatch comfortably cross the Rs. 20,000 barrier.
And that also changes its competition. Instead of competing with budget smartwatches, the Watch 6 now goes up against semi-premium fitness watches like the Huawei Watch Fit 5. Sure, Huawei’s option costs a little more, but both fall within the same Rs. 20,000–30,000 segment, making comparisons inevitable.
So with that out of the way, let’s see what Redmi’s most premium smartwatch yet actually brings to the table.

Redmi Watch 6 Overview
The Redmi Watch 6 looks… familiar. Very familiar.
At first glance, it resembles an Apple Watch with its square display and rounded corners. And the similarities don’t stop there. Xiaomi has now added a rotating crown that doubles as the Home button, alongside a secondary side button just below it. Previous Redmi Watches only had a single rotating button, so this instantly makes the Watch 6 look much more premium.
Personally, I wish Xiaomi had experimented a little more with the design. Huawei did exactly that with the Watch Fit 5. It also has a rotating crown and side button, but the watch case has more character, and even the strap attachment mechanism is unique. Redmi, on the other hand, sticks with Apple’s familiar slide-and-lock strap mechanism.
Thankfully, it isn’t an outright copy. The flat frame gives the Watch 6 its own identity, plus its aluminum which makes it feel sturdy and should handle the occasional knock against a wall or desk without much trouble.
The Watch 6 doesn’t carry an official IP rating, but it is rated 5ATM, meaning it can withstand water pressure equivalent to 50 meters. While an IP certification would’ve been nice, 5ATM is generally more useful on a smartwatch anyway, making it suitable for swimming and everyday exposure to water.
Up front sits a 2.07-inch AMOLED display, and honestly, it’s difficult to complain. The panel refreshes at 60Hz, instantly making animations and scrolling feel much smoother than the 30Hz displays.
Brightness is equally impressive. The display reaches 1,500 nits under High Brightness Mode and peaks at 2,000 nits, making it perfectly usable outdoors. Sure, Huawei’s Watch Fit 5 pushes even higher brightness levels at 2,500nits, but in real-world use, the difference is unlikely to matter much.
One welcome addition is 512MB of internal storage. While that might sound tiny compared to the Huawei Watch Fit 5’s massive 64GB storage, it’s actually the first time a Redmi Watch officially sold in Nepal has included onboard storage. It’s primarily meant for storing watch faces and offline music, but it’s still a nice upgrade over previous Redmi watches.

For positioning, the Watch 6 supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo while using dual L1 GNSS antennas. That’s perfectly adequate for most runs and cycling sessions. However, unlike the Huawei Watch Fit 5, it doesn’t support dual-band L1+L5 positioning, meaning location tracking won’t be quite as accurate as the Fit 5.
Another omission is NFC. But honestly, that’s hardly a deal-breaker in Nepal. Contactless payments still haven’t become mainstream here, so most buyers probably won’t even notice its absence.
The Redmi Watch 6 also packs a healthy selection of health tracking features, including continuous heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, sleep analysis, stress monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, and breathing exercises, pretty much everything you would find on any smartwatches

Battery life continues to be one of Redmi’s strongest selling points. Inside sits a 550mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 24 days under light usage, around 12 days with typical use, and roughly 7 days if you’re constantly using GPS and health tracking. Charging is handled through a magnetic charging system, which attaches quickly and securely.
The Redmi Watch 6 runs HyperOS 3 and connects via Bluetooth 5.4. It is compatible with both Android and iPhone, though Android devices need to be running Android 8.0 or newer, while iPhones require iOS 14.0 or later.
To pair the watch, you’ll need Xiaomi’s Mi Fitness app, which handles setup, health tracking, firmware updates, workout history, and watch face downloads.

The Redmi Watch 6 does what a smartwatch is supposed to do really well. It has a bright AMOLED display, solid battery life, reliable health tracking, and, unlike premium smartwatches from Apple and Samsung, you won’t be reaching for the charger every night. If you’re simply looking for a balanced fitness smartwatch, the Redmi Watch 6 is not that bad.
But at similar pricing, the Huawei Fit 5 offers much better specs. For just around Rs. 5,500 more, Fit 5 comes with better tracking, 128 times more storage, and a richer overall feature set. At that price difference, it’s hard not to recommend stretching your budget.
It’s also a little disappointing because Xiaomi had plenty of room to make the Watch 6 stand out. Not complaining about the hardware, but the software feels like a missed opportunity. Xiaomi could have introduced more Redmi-exclusive features to better reward users already invested in its ecosystem.
For instance, the Redmi Note series is one of Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone lineups. If the Redmi Watch 6 offered deeper integration with Redmi phones through exclusive features, it would have been a much more compelling purchase for existing Redmi users.
